she's wearing a prom-dress type dress for playing dress-up, something that the target audience would understand, and who got upset over it? i'd really like to see the explanation and know who it came from. the whole freaking song was rewritten to be cutesy and something that preschoolers can understand. and when is it decided that her costume wasn't appropriate? o not when they shoot that damn video. none of the hundred people involved in making the thing said, 'this isn't really the type of thing we want our show to be about.' no, they wait until it's completely done?on the other hand, look at the type of videos katy perry makes. wtf did they really expect putting her on sesame street? 'hey guys, let's take this pop-star who is selling herself 100% as a sex symbol and 0% anything else, and let's get her to be on a show for preschoolers. i'm sure she'll wear a burqa for us.'

From what I understand, it's not so much that her attire was inappropriate as it was that SHE was inappropriate. She's a total homophobe, bigot, uptight conservative, anti-any-religion-that-isn't-her-brand-of-"Christianity" yet still maintains the outward "I'm a total slut" visage while playing prude. In other words, she's complete and total hypocritical white trash who's pandering to the pre-pubescent male crowd to make her fortune off of bubblegum pop music. The question is...why were the producers of Sesame Street even considering this piece of filth in the first place?
