My daughter currently lives about 1 hour away on off hours, but about 3 hours away during rush "hour" (anytime between 3 and 7:30pm...I've driven everywhere and Toronto traffic is the worst I've found in North America). This makes it a wee bit impractical to see her during the week. An hour or two of WoW a couple times a week is a great way to keep in touch. Also, she's still young enough that she hasn't caught on to the fact that I use the game's distractions as a way to open up about things she might normally be shy to talk about.
WoW has turned out to be a really great way to keep up to date on how she's doing in school, if she's having any troubles with any of the kids there, and her life in general.
