To be honest, no and yes..

I do talk to friends thro wow, as they are playing there (recruited and all).
But no because I could also keep in touch thro IM, steam, xfire, phone..And most of the time I just want to hide from G-chat or whispers about "So I decided to level X class today, boost me to 15 cos this is my 9th alt and I'm tired of the starts so I can just lfg!"

But the most fun profit of keeping touch with people I know thro wow is that we can do dungeons and all other would-be-tedious grinds together so its less tedious and bit more fun.
