Not to say this is a bad thing.. but it sounds like rets will function like feral druids, only with 3 combo points instead of 5. Maintaining buffs, debuffs and timing the finisher in-between it all. Welcome to the thunderdome!

I'm pretty excited about this. I like swinging a two hander and my main is a pally, but I've got no apatite for the current ret - the new ret though? looks cool!

The most important difference between Ret Holy Power and rogue/kitty DPS is that Holy Power is totally portable. We can earn the power on any target, and then spend it on any other target.

Rets also do not have the shred mechanic. Yes, like all melee, we try to stay behind our target at all times. But in those moments where it's not really an option, such as some fire we need to move out of that might cut off the enemy's back, rets will not be punished as harshly as ferals are.
And I'm aware mangle has been buffed for situations like the above, but it's still a DPS penalty.
