Goblin cinematic: Escape from Kezan
Xfire user Zilas just uploaded what we believe to be the cinematic detailing the end of the goblin starting zone Kezan. Frankly, it's amazing. There are spoilers for the end of the first part of the goblin starting experience, so be warned.
Blizzard has, once again, topped itself in terms of cinematic quality and expression outside of its general pre-rendered cinematics. Hopefully the worgen transformation movie is just as awesome.

I think this part of the SI:7 has been hired by Garrosh to kill off Thrall to secure his place as Warchief of the Horde and if it goes wrong, it is blamed on the Alliance. The Alliance agrees to be hired by Garrosh, because Thrall dead would be good for the Alliance. The last quest that the Goblins have, is to meet Warchief Garrosh and give him a SI:7 emblem. The quest text says he looks shaken and pale. Hmm...

Because the Alliance is all sunshine and rainbows, huh? Even assuming this IS an actual Alliance-affiliated human assault, SI7 exists for a reason. Sometimes you have to do some questionable things to try to solve a problem.
Now...I'm a little fuzzy on the time frame, but if this whole scene falls post-cataclysm (specifically, post Horde Power Exchange), it's VERY understandable that these sailors don't want witnesses.

And I suppose almost genociding the entire Worgen race doesn't really matter? :P
No offence Hordies, but you kinda had it coming after years of attacks on Alliance lands since Vanillia. Not to mention Sylvanas being a (if you beg my choice of words) bitch in Vanillia already (with Hillsbrad and all that) and only growing worse.
Also Thrall:
Dick move talking about peace while not pulling back your forces.
Bigger Dick move putting an idiot in charge who brings the Horde back to the old days!
Also: Am I the only one who thinks that Garrosh had something to do with this? After you show that tag he isn't boasting about the Alliance, simplyl ponders about something. Looks like Thrall knows something that he now knows, and that he doesn't really want people to know :D

Cataclysm is finally giving the factions really good reasons to hate each other.

IMO,the Worgen one should be showing all the people who changed to Blood Elf,only it shows them deleting their elves and rolling Worgen as you pan out on a room full of twilight and harry potter posters. THE RETURN OF THE 1.0 ALLIANCE DURRR DAAA HURRRR!!

I had seen the quests leading up to and after this event, but getting to actually see what happened is... wow...
I didnt not expect such an epic cinematic! Theres a ton of ingame cut-scenes in cata, but lets hope there are more like this!
Heather Sep 30th 2010 1:20PM
Holy crap that was great!
Randy Sep 30th 2010 1:35PM
Get over it you wannabe Horde gnomes.....you drove into a battle and became collateral damage.
GRAB YOUR SWORD AND FIGHT THE HORDE!
NielsdeJONG Sep 30th 2010 4:07PM
I don't approve of firing on the Goblins.
But this does really reek of Twilight cult involvement after all *spoiler* the archbishop is part of it too, and if you see Garrosh his reaction, me thinks he had something to do with it as well.
Also as Hordies, you guys are the very least to talk about aggression :/
Serieusly? Attacking entire nations? Almost genociding vast amounts of their populations? raising people from the dead and cursing them to a life of suffering but justifying it with saying that they have "free will"?
I dont'think the new Forsaken have any choice but to join the Horde :P How is that free will? Not to mention that in time their hatred of the living will overcome them, and they will become the very monsters they used to fight :(
So no, this little act compares nothing to what the Horde is doing (and has done for years)! Please stop being so hypocrite!
If it was a Horde ship firing on the Alliance, you guys would have cheered "for the Whordeeeeeh" and what not! :P

I can't wait, my Goblin Enhancement Shaman might be my new favourite character of all time.
BritishBulldog Sep 30th 2010 1:30PM
Just wow...
This beats even the wrathgate cinematic in my opinion
Leviathon Sep 30th 2010 1:35PM
The 'cinematics' are not dataminable since they are heavily encrypted and so you need to do the questline to see it (besides obviously seeing it online). The Worgen one is in the files now also but it is not yet active.
Tolkfan Sep 30th 2010 1:45PM
I hope this is just a beta thing... I really like that WoW cinematics are easily accessible outside the client. I like rewatching them =D
Lyinar Sep 30th 2010 1:57PM
Encrypted cinematics? Thank you Blizzard! Pretty much my entire guild ended up yelling at one of our members two days after WotLK hit because he had looked in the game folders and decided to tell everyone in-detail about the Wrathgate cinematic he watched without actually earning it, without even thinking that anyone would possibly be bothered by spoilers.
lt_yao Sep 30th 2010 1:43PM
THIS IS AWESOOOOOOOOOOOMEEEEEE!!!!
Well seems I'll be going back to WoW. While WOTLK was a total downer this seems to bring in more and more fun into the game.
Andy O. Sep 30th 2010 1:42PM
Did anyone else get a little Titanic-y with this one? Wow Blizzard, reminds me I forgot to pre-order the collectors edition.
Bravo.
winterhawk Sep 30th 2010 1:52PM
This is in response to Andy O., in case the lovely comments system parks it somewhere else:
That's what I came here to say. I just watched Titanic last weekend (shut up--I like that movie and I don't mind admitting it! :)) and the scene in the cinematic where the boat reared up on its end and then the front end came crashing down with a huge splash of water was almost exactly like the one in the movie. Enough that I doubt it was a coincidence. Nice job, Blizz!
Muse Sep 30th 2010 1:55PM
Except for the part where the "escape pods" have rockets instead of being BOATS that go ON the water. Just so... goblin-y.
