Wow, sinking an unknown ship full of goblin slaves just because you think nobody knows about how you guys don't like the horde.
I understand that this was kind of a contrivance to set my goblin free and still breed factional rivalry.
I also understand that Garrosh and Sylvanas have been attacking you guys mercilessly and with little to no reason.
But seriously (and pardon my Orcish)
Dick move, Alliance.
Dick. Move.

I believe that the horde ship has Thrall on it and the Alliance ship doesn't want anyone to know that they kidnapped him. Hence destroying witnesses.

This plays into the total war atmosphere of Horde vs. Alliance in this xpac. While it is a dirty move by the alliance, an unknown ship could be an enemy ship as much as it could be an ally. If you have seen the whole goblin zone after this and know who the "target" is you would understand why they acted this way. Worgens got the same treatment by the horde although later in there starting area.

The ship is flying the jolly roger (you can see it at :40), pretty sure anybody caught in a naval engagement would have opened fire on it.

I don't approve of it (just like the deal the alliance made with grimtotems), but I like it in a *storytelling* sense. The Horde's shade of evil is "orc smash" and "I'm the Lich Queen", while the Alliance shade is more "humanish", reminds me of various agencies portrayed in movies (CIA, FBI, MI6, blah blah). "No witnesses" and "give guns to enemies of our enemy" fits them nicely.

Why is naixdra getting downrated? He just made a comment about how bad the Alliance is behaving.
It's pretty clear that Alliance are "not behaving." Are people shocked that the "good guys" are not acting good? Personally I think this is awesome story-telling.

The "dicks" here are the slavers, who fled the sinking ship and left people caged on it.

And if positions were reversed and that was the Horde firing on an unknown ship? Nobody would've even batted an eye.

Which, if I remember things correctly, is actually a Twilight Cult plot. I could be wrong.

I like when things I watch make sense. This cinematic doesn't. The Alliance attacking the Goblin ship with absolutely no provocation doesn't fit the overall sense of what the Alliance is supposed to be. It's just to push the Horde vs. Alliance rivalry, but it doesn't come from any logical standpoint. I'd give it a 5/10 only because the animations were well done considering the engine they're stuck with.

I think this part of the SI:7 has been hired by Garrosh to kill off Thrall to secure his place as Warchief of the Horde and if it goes wrong, it is blamed on the Alliance. The Alliance agrees to be hired by Garrosh, because Thrall dead would be good for the Alliance. The last quest that the Goblins have, is to meet Warchief Garrosh and give him a SI:7 emblem. The quest text says he looks shaken and pale. Hmm...

Because the Alliance is all sunshine and rainbows, huh? Even assuming this IS an actual Alliance-affiliated human assault, SI7 exists for a reason. Sometimes you have to do some questionable things to try to solve a problem.
Now...I'm a little fuzzy on the time frame, but if this whole scene falls post-cataclysm (specifically, post Horde Power Exchange), it's VERY understandable that these sailors don't want witnesses.

And I suppose almost genociding the entire Worgen race doesn't really matter? :P
No offence Hordies, but you kinda had it coming after years of attacks on Alliance lands since Vanillia. Not to mention Sylvanas being a (if you beg my choice of words) bitch in Vanillia already (with Hillsbrad and all that) and only growing worse.
Also Thrall:
Dick move talking about peace while not pulling back your forces.
Bigger Dick move putting an idiot in charge who brings the Horde back to the old days!
Also: Am I the only one who thinks that Garrosh had something to do with this? After you show that tag he isn't boasting about the Alliance, simplyl ponders about something. Looks like Thrall knows something that he now knows, and that he doesn't really want people to know :D

Cataclysm is finally giving the factions really good reasons to hate each other.
