Well, I'll keep wow.com bookmarked, I want to see where it leads after the change :>
Radioted Oct 1st 2010 5:16PM
Same here.

Same. I still can't fathom why WI would give up such prime internet real estate completely.
Sure, I get that you want to better integrate with joystiq, but why not keep wow.com and have it redirect to wow.joystiq.com, or vice versa?
Are they selling wow.com to Bliz, or some domain squatter, for a bundle?
Sterb Oct 2nd 2010 7:25AM
They answered elsewhere that AOL had some kind of plans for the wow.com domain (that wasn't selling it to Blizzard apparently).
It's management decisions like these that have made AOL the success it is today.
Yup.

What about the mobile site?
tomorsc Oct 1st 2010 5:16PM
unnecessary change is unnecessary.
wow.com was iconic
wow.joysitq.com is just another site that could not get wow.com imho.
RIP www.wow.com
Brett Porter Oct 1st 2010 5:20PM
i.wow.joystiq.com

Not that it needs to be confirmed but:
http://i.wow.joystiq.com/
and
http://m.wow.joystiq.com
as does
http://cheese.wow.joystiq.com/
(okay so the last one links to the regular WoW Insider but I thought I'd mention it and yes you can replace cheese with almost anything)

Leave you? Ha. You're stuck with me! Say what about that empty room out back. It looks really comfy :P
RogueJedi86 Oct 1st 2010 5:15PM
So can you tell us yet what will happen to wow.com when the changeover happens? Since you aren't going to let it keep redirecting forever it must have some future use. Has AOL told you yet? I thought it was perfect that Wow.com was WoW-related.
Hollow Leviathan Oct 1st 2010 6:34PM
We'll know in as soon as 3 days.
Egen Oct 1st 2010 5:16PM
Looks to be i.wow.joystiq.com
... yeah thats not awkward or anything.
Kemikalkadet Oct 1st 2010 5:18PM
I still have the original wowinsider.com bookmarked. Never changed it when you changed to wow.com, i assume wowinsider will still direct here?
Egen Oct 1st 2010 5:19PM
ugh, i suck at replying. That was in response to Jacob.
BlindWorg Oct 1st 2010 5:24PM
Heh, doesnt bother me since i use google to get pretty much everyone of my favorite sites, including this.
leggomymuoio Oct 1st 2010 6:02PM
Well that just sounds inconvenient. I just type "w" into my address bar and wow.com is the first thing to show up. I just gotta type wow.joystiq.com enough and it'll eventually start showing that first.
Nathral Oct 1st 2010 5:36PM
"We would hate to lose you in the move."
Then perhaps you should stop moving so often hmmm....
Jinx Oct 2nd 2010 3:35AM
This. :)
lazymangaka Oct 1st 2010 5:36PM
wow.com will instantaneously start redirecting to the World of Warcraft main site is my guess.
Drakkenfyre Oct 1st 2010 10:26PM
I would bet money on it.
For all the "No Blizzard didn't sue us" stuff, I never said they sued them. I bet they offered Aol a huge chunk of cash for the domain.
