Just from looking at the post, most of it assumed the position of a bad player. Anyone who would use the new abilities such as Solarbeam or Wild Mushrooms ineffectively. However I'm not going to lie, I didn't read the entire article, I just wanted to say that put in the hands of a good player, these changes are game-breaking as opposed to what we have now. What do we have now?1 Snare (2 if you're lucky with Brambles + Treants), 1 Full CC, 1 Sleep (beasts)What do we get?Numerous snares, a silence, a stun (Starsurge), an interrupt (Skull Bash), and an enrage remover (lol BM Hunters/Warrs). We lose animal control with Hibernate. Again this isn't bashing the post, just saying that in general the changes mad to Boomkin PvP will make Boomkins extremely viable. With the less-effective MS change, we will be able to fit spots that Hunters and Mages previously replaced us as.Then again... they both did get Heroism.

Starsurge knockdown ("stun") was removed weeks ago. =(Blizzard builds us up to knock us down.

If you actually read the entire article before commenting (which I know is a lot to ask but stick with me here), you would see that the new control mechanisms were very much directly addressed and highlighted as being inadequate to boost moonkin PvP in any meaningful sense. Having a silence is great... until the other player strafes a few yards out of it. Chances of that silence covering several players that have been aoe rooted? Much less likely now that previously. The mushroom boom of power is great... if they're setup enough at least four seconds before anyone gets within range to kill them off. Oh, and if someone happens to step within 3 yards, which, without researching, I have to assume is the smallest radius of anything in the game at the moment. Oh, but we still have that knockdown effe... nah, nevermind, that's gone now too. That's all not to say that we don't have more options than we do in Wrath, but to call boomkins "extremely viable" is a stretch at best, especially in light of the recent downward adjustments (since it's beta, I won't call them nerfs),

From my pvp experience in wrath... (2k in 3s so nothing near a gladiators experience) Being a holy pally and given a nice pole, a balance druid could never kill me.In cata however... The mushrooms will be a gamechanger because it effectively will stop players from kiting around poles AND deal a good amount of damage to them.

Skull bash is only usable in cat or bear form and druids rarely change our of their "default" form. The Starsurge stun has been removed.

Now knowing that they did remove the "stun"/knockdown effect from Starsurge, I'm extremely disappointed. And yes calling Boomkins extremely viable may have been a stretch.I guess it just depends on the player, since moving 4 yards seems to be the issue, I'm not sure why it's even noticeable with the root (which should be instant cast now), pushback + slow and fungal growth. Overall I agree that these should have been things implemented a long time ago but I'm still happy that I get to laser fire beams at my opponents now.

@ TriquesDruids who rarely change out of their forms in PVP will have a hard time reching high levels of competition. The druid's shape shifting is the key to it's performance. The most useful abilities in any form are (arguably) the bear's bash and the cat's maim. Dash and stealth are also important- as well as bear form and barkskin for surviving melee burst. But the two feral forms each provide a stun and interrupt. The moonkin itself can also interrupt with typhoon. Combined with line of sight rooting and cyclones and the moonkin can be a very potent stymie to any healer.Good druids need to change forms to reach their full potential.

@GregThank you for your thoughtful post, I was about to type something horrendously rude until I read your reply. @Everyone elseGreg is absolutely right. I made it to 1300 bracket after 250 games in 2v2 because I stayed in Boomkin and left my shaman healer do all the work. I'm embarrassed to say that once I was educated by rooftrellenx about how we can LoS them the same way they can us I finally broke that 1800 wall. If you didn't know it; for a long while now entering and leaving combat is VERY frequent now in arena. re-stealthing is an incredibly viable option. and lastly... heal for the love of all that is good, boomkins can heal!! what a concept.I'm eagerly awaiting Cata because there will be numerous patches for balancing and re-balancing (no pun intended). You're thinking too small scale if you think boomkins will be stuck at the mere list of proposed changes in beta. Track DK history... I felt bad for them after a while, then I died to Path of Frost in ToC and hated them again lol.Have a good day everyone who read this far!
