- a high-resolution city tabard that requires friendly standing with that city;
- a reasonably-priced 16-slot bag (unique) requiring revered standing to purchase; and
- level 35 blue cloaks (also in gorgeous high resolution) in caster, agility and strength varieties, requiring exalted standing.
The tabard can be picked up at any time, since almost every race starts at friendly standing with its faction's cities. The bag, on the other hand, shows up at a point in the leveling process when a new player (or fresh reroll on a new server/faction) is going to start wishing he had another big bag like the backpack. And the cloaks are available at level 35 -- a level at which, on my worgen fire mage, I had just hit exalted with Darnassus and was very close to hitting exalted with Stormwind. So on top of a cloak tailored to my spec, I also had two 16-slot bags available -- which for a new player is like winning the lottery. This is a great way to educate new players on how WoW's reputation system works, and it provides some neat rewards to boot.

I didnt say the cloaks had to be different. but why farm rep with another city just to get the same rewards you can already get?

PLEASE tell me the worgen and goblins will have their own! I would like to take pride in my favorite factions. This would make up for the lack of stuff for the argent toruney.

So realistically your tabard will now have more polygons than your character, please blizz update the character models!

The tabards have the same amount of polygons. "High resolution" means the texture on them is higher.

So...does it make a difference if we get Argent Tournament tabards or these purchased ones?

I hate to be a stickler, but "The tabard can be picked up at any time, since almost every race starts at friendly standing with its faction's cities." only applies to Alliance. The Horde is split when it comes to starting reps - UC and Silvermoon being neutral to the rest, and vice versa. Unless of course they've changed it in the beta and either I've missed it, or nobody has mentioned it.
As far as that goes, I'm not remembering if it's been mentioned what rep Goblins start with in relation to the rest of the Horde and vice versa.

Although this is very cool am I the only who thinks it should have happened ages ago?
I guess mounts were the main reason to get rep with the your faction's cities and then they added the Tournament which had awesome pets/mounts/tabards, etc. but that was just for high level characters.
Nice to see there's some of that fun for the lower levels. I remember levelling and getting exalted with my home faction and I was like, 'So? What difference does it make?'

Oh yes, especially since my brother who got me into the game had gone on about factions talking about you when you hit Exalted.
I must have ridden my level 35 around Stormwind for 24 minutes before he told me I had to wait until Outland.

I was actually thinking of this earlier, and I think we need more rewards for each level of reputation (not much reason to push honored, doth sayeth the lowbies). Specifically, armor and weapon sets that can make us look like our city guards or even like old units from the RTS games.
Best of all, we could have players re-enact old battles with it. :D

Blizzard basically just spinning its wheels
Who give's a rat's about a single 16 slot bag or a blue cloak at 35? By the time you hit exalted you're going to be long past level 35
Why is it exactly that almost no matter what Blizzard does it seems like WoWinsider is always ready to suck up to Blizzard by telling them how fantastic they are without ever have a real discussion on the many faults that blizzard does have.

So, four or five people have asked and no beta tester(s) have responded... Are the tabards the same as the ones that can be earned from the Argent Tournament? If so, that's a bit lazy on Blizz's part. Let's have high level players daily quest like mad to exalt their faction's home cities, and then further grind to get the tabards, mounts, etc. THEN let's make some of the same items accessible to level 37 players who will exalt their home rep. just through the natural course of questing... le sigh... Maybe they'll just give all paladins the Argent Charger at level 20 too.
