If BM doesn't look like it's going to be the spec of choice for extreme soloing... what does BM look like it's going to be the spec of choice for, aside from the prettiest pets?

Well, if you're paying attention to the new buffs that pets are bringing to the raid, you'll see that the big ones like heroism and the like are coming from the exotic pets, so if the raid wants a pocket hunter/shammy, you will need to be BM spec.

Good question. The reasons Frost lists for why BM is no longer the extreme solo spec of choice would all, presumably, be equally valid reasons that it would no longer have much advantage as the premiere leveling spec either.

@ firstlordmothAgreed, the exotic pet buffs would give BM added validity as a raiding spec, but they don't do anything to preserve what validity it had as the preferred leveling spec.

"what does BM look like it's going to be the spec of choice for"It will be the spec of choice for people who like the flavor of the BM spec, as your DPS as beast master should now be just as good as (if not better than) the other hunter specs. Which probably means that we get to see fun looking pets in raids (something about a spectral feline or a badass corehound just seems really fun).
