Back in TBC days, we danced dangerously close to the 500 softcap on a regular basis. To combat this we came up with a few rules:1. "Trainee" members are booted after 14 days of inactivity. You're a trial member, and if you're not trying to be here during that period, why did you want to come here?2. Main toons (denoted by the tag "Main" in the Officer note) get a notice just before 2 months saying something like, "You up an' die er whut?" (It might have been 3 months back then, can't say for sure.)3. Alts of mains ("XXX's Alt" in the officer note) are booted automatically at 2 months inactivity, no questions. If they play that alt again and want it reguilded, we had no issues, but if they didn't ask, the roster was clean. This kept the roster very manageable and continues to do so. As a large, diverse guild, we're kind of laying out sandbags for the potential of a Cataclysmic flood to our roster, but this kind of thing will help us keep the roster clean...well ahead of the hard 600 now set in place.
