Could you describe here what benefits Guild2Guild (which I presume is what you use) has over privately created chat channels?

For bonus points, what specific changes would you want to see in created chat channel functionality that would make Guild2Guild unnecessary? Or perhaps what changes in Guild2Guild would make it so you could use the private chat channel as a replacement for guild/officer chat?
