Breakfast Topic: Slowbies, what's first on your Cataclysm to-do list?

Eventually Deathwing will make it to Azeroth and tear the world apart. If I had to make a guess as to why he isn't here yet, it would be because he's having some issues making it to the surface. Those tunnels are only so big. Much like the doorways to the AH and other buildings, they are not mammoth-friendly.
Once Deathwing does make his grand entrance, a lot of players will be racing to level 85 and gearing up via heroics so they might enter the raids and go for a server- or even world-first kill. What about those of us who aren't interested in blowing through the content as fast as humanly possible? What about those of us who aren't going to be leveling as fast as possible?
I myself am torn. Part of me wants to fly over Dun Morogh and take in the scenery, while the money-maker part of me wants to spend the first week or two farming ore. It's a proven fact that people will pay nearly any amount of gold for materials to craft an epic. Many people will be leveling their crafting professions as quickly as they can level. The first few weeks are a goldmine for herbs, ore and leather, depending on your server.
If you're a slower player, what is the first thing you plan on doing once Deathwing finally makes his appearance? Maybe you have a list of things you want to do but you have no idea where to start, and you'll randomly pick something from the list. Are you going to fly throughout the Eastern Kingdoms and Kalimdor, taking in the new scenery?

The first I will do is make a new a character and level him. The world has been the same for so long, I can't wait for the new things. I'm not sure what I'll make, but I'm leaning toward a Belf Warrior or a Undead Hunter.

New character here too. I'm trying to decide if I should finish leveling any of my abandoned characters or get the ones close to outlands there so they don't become a mess during the transition.

I plan on hopping onto a level 30ish character and avoiding the mess that will be the starting zones, the new race zones, the new level 81 zones, etc. At least for the first week, anyway, and that's IF I log into a server that isn't completely b0rked.

exploring defiantly at the top of the list, and from the sound of it trying to figure out my hunter and what was a DK tank's talents/rotations lol

Exploring defiantly? That sounds exciting!

Now, now. No spell checking on the internet. It's very rude.
Instead, direct them to http://www.d-e-f-i-n-i-t-e-l-y.com/

i did hit spell check thats why its spelled like it is thanks for corrections (get a life) :-) lol

It could be right... if his guild tells him he better level his 80s and Steak tells his guild, "@#$% you! I want to look around!" then he **would** be exploring defiantly.

I would love a try at the new Archeology. Sounds like a great addition to the extra professions. And the rest will be spend on farming. I'll start leveling after a week or 2.

I plan on a similar thing, I'll be scoping out the revamped old world, leveling Archaeology and doing all the new lowbie quests to get the new Loremaster.
Jaq Oct 6th 2010 8:11AM
Going to find a flight trainer to get old world flying, then I'm off to Hyjal to start the race to 85.
Jaq Oct 6th 2010 8:12AM
Because I don't know HOW to do things slowly, btw.

Since Cata is coming out right at exam time for me, my first task will probably be NOT installing it so I pass my tests. x) After things quiet down for me, the initial rush will be over and I'll probably just start leveling serenely, doing random dungeons, maybe do 1-10 on my goblin or worgen alts.
Healium Oct 6th 2010 10:41AM
My plan is to instal it while studying for finals and then once christmas break comes go mad on leveling a new char whenever a good IRL friend of mine online and trying to learn how to play the hunter that I've called my main for many years.
~~very nervious about them changing my class so very much~~
Hache Oct 6th 2010 11:47AM
@Healium:
This is the voice of experience talking to you: Don't install it. Study for your finals and them play to your heart content.
Paulio Oct 6th 2010 1:51PM
@Healium - they're your grades, but Hache is right: some forbearance on installation will be in direct proportion to how much you'll study. The game will always be there but finals are a one-time deal.
