Breakfast Topic: I can do what all weekend?

We have all responsibilities and obligations in the real world: a full-time job, the big exam that you've been dreading for weeks, the moment your kid decides to learn about gravity by jumping off the back of the couch and onto his or her sibling ... WoW time is a precious commodity -- and to some, a very rare one at that. We don't always get to play the game when we want due to real life, and sometimes we might plan a night of WoW only to have something come up at the last minute
I recently had a medical procedure done and was told to relax over the next three days. My fiancée went to visit friends that Saturday and had to work Sunday. She told me to play WoW while she gone so that I wouldn't hurt myself trying to do things around the house I wasn't supposed to do. The only thing that stood between me and my precious WoW time was an ice pack that wouldn't stay cold for more than 30 minutes at a time. It was a surprisingly productive weekend. I was able to do all my dailies between my three characters. I ran Karazhan and Tempest Keep, and we took down Sartharion for the Nightfall title.
What would you do if you were able to play WoW all weekend without any interruptions? Would you farm until your bags were stuffed full of herbs and ore? Would you visit all the old content you missed when it was considered current, or would you dust off that lowly level 20 alt you haven't touched in six months?

Well, I have gotten a bit hooked on achievements on my main, so I think I would continue to try and knock out as many as I could, especially before Cata comes along. The world, she's a changing!

I already can - my parents have a holiday cottage and go away almost every weekend, so I just stay in, order a pizza and play WoW to my heart's content.
They try to get me to come with them and sometimes I do, but the house there has internet access so I normally just end up on WoW.
Sad? No life? Me? Well, it's cheaper than a lot of other social things :(.

Reply fail - should have been a separate post.

Probably would work on some of the mounts that are going away in Cataclysm, and once that failed switching to my lowbie alt.

It is extremely rare that i find myself with time to play on my own with no interruptions, but when those occasions do pop up i tend to hop around between my 80's (doing dailies or raids or just general questing in Northrend) and my other alts. I've been playing my prot pally a lot recently so if I had time like that come up soon, I would probably go blow something up with my mage... like a warlock maybe.

I will most likely try and get some more PvP achievements despite loathing pvp.

Good.... Goood.... Come to the daaaaark side. We have cookies.
When the silly warlock makes em for us.

Wintergrasp is how I usually woo PvP-shy people to our side... it doesn't even really feel like PvP so much in the traditional sense; it's all about the awesome feeling of tearing down fortress walls and towers, and other people just happen to get in your way sometimes and you take care of 'em!
And come on, you KNOW you wanna rock an achievement called "Vehicular Gnomeslaughter". :D

I'd quietly cycle through each of my characters (80s and alts alike) and play each one for a little while before the forthcoming class changes appear, one last time.

Well this weekend I will be farming badges. Blizz upped the price of Heirlooms in 4.0.1 to more than triple what they are now. So I'll be making sure I've got all the 1-80 Heirlooms I need for my future Gobby or Wolf-pup.
Jinx Oct 7th 2010 9:18AM
They confirmed this was unintended and the pricing will decrease to a more feasible pricing. Check MMO-Champion if you'd like to fish out the source.

Jinx, they confirmed the opposite, the change was intentional to align with Justice Point gains at 85.

Quite the contrary, Bashiok stated that the heirloom prices are based on the JP earnings at level 85 :

I would attempt to continue my Loremaster efforts, and endless reputation grinding, to achieve the goals I've set myself for before Cataclysm arrives.
I actually have a free weekend this week - off work, yay! - and I plan to spend it doing just those things. And the odd bit of obligatory writing, but, regardless ...
Idaelus Oct 7th 2010 8:16AM
My lowbie hunter alt would slaughter many allys in her quest to level from 15 to 80 in BGs
>:D
Dr. Nothing Oct 7th 2010 8:32AM
I don't work most weekends and my significant other lives about 4 hours away so this is most weekends for me, I tend to buid up as many achievements as I can. Although more recently it's been my time to grind rep. Centaurs, you will love me!

Do what you'd probably not do with a time restriction: basic research and development!
- find the addons that are good for you
- implement the macros that will help you perform better
- overhaul your keybindings (if you can plan ahead you might get an alternative input device beforehand like the sandiotech 3d mouse or the zfang gaming keyboard)
- start turning with your mouse
Then set you map finder to display low level quests, go to an unexplored region and practice!

Try to down LK...again...
Marzim Oct 7th 2010 8:20AM

Nijel Oct 7th 2010 3:07PM
I'll be there with ya!
