is Thrall in the Throne of the Elements?
I don't remember ever seeing him there, what am I missing?
(only played Nagrand as Horde)
Falcon6 Oct 7th 2010 7:36PM
In the next patch, Thrall relinquishes leadership to Garrosh in order to save the world. I think there's a questline that Horde can do to go to Nagrand and see Thrall meet up with the Shaman there in order to become a better Shaman. Or if it's not a quest, then it's a scripted event.
Lifedragon Oct 7th 2010 10:52PM
there is a quest chain in Nagrad that eventually leads you to bringing Thrall to Nagrand to meet is Grandmother and Garrosh. It's a scripted event. I completed the quest without knowing how to start the event but i here it is really good.

@Lifedragon: yeah, I did that even on some chars, but I only remember Thrall goint to Garadar, not Throne of the Elements... so it must be what Falcon6 said.

So the "Basic Campfire For Warchief" campaign....extinguished?
pancakes Oct 7th 2010 8:14PM
No, he's in the screenshot up there too, biding his time.

Sources close to campaign HQ are reporting that Basic Campfire is delaying another push for Warchief until the current political climate becomes more favourable.
Pizzaman4500 Oct 7th 2010 8:54PM
Basic Campfire has decided to remove himself from the political climate until the whole "Fire-people nearly burning Orgrimmar to the ground" thing blows over. Some of his opponents have linked him to the attack, and he feels it's best to disappear for a while (as evidenced by this photo of him in Nagrand).

I fully expect that every time a group of Alliance come into Orgrimmar and slay Garrosh, people will light a campfire on the throne.

New Warchief Bans Basic Campfires
ORGRIMMAR - Warchief Advisor Eitrigg addressed the citizens of the Orcish capital today, telling the crowd that new Warchief Garrosh Hellscream has issued a decree banning the lighting of basic campfires within city limits.
Warchief Hellscream's decision comes after a week of raids in the Goblin Slums district, where Orgrimmar Grunts have confiscated T-shirts and other paraphernalia with such slogans as "I voted for Basic Campfire" "Garrosh burned by Campfire," "Campfire good, Garrosh bad," "This Fire is brighter in so many ways than that blowhard cinder" and "Rather have Fire than the fires of war."
His face solemn, Eitrigg called for a show of unity from Orgrimmar citizens in the wake of tumultous days that have passed since the transfer of power - and warned those who may light the fires of protest.
"Light a campfire, the consequences will be dire," he said, adding it will be the slogan put on posters across the city, featuring an angry Garrosh with Kok'ron jailers.
Eitrigg said the Warchief was not available to comment on the ruling today, as he was busy in discussions with Thunder Bluff's interim leadership, Troll Chieftain Vol'jin, Undercity Queen Sylvanas Windrunner and Stormwind King Varian Wrynn.

Eitrigg later added fireworks, bonfires, chimney fires, holiday fires, explosions from engineering mishaps, auto de fe on traitors, Alliance, Scourge, Burning Legion and Twilight Hammer individuals and book burnings will still be allowed in the city proper. He also said a commission may look into the latest invention by the engineering guilds, barbecue grills, as well as issues regarding fire mages, elementals and certain fel creatures.
Orgrimmar's lowest denizens were not pleased with the ruling, but many peons declined to go on the record. "Me busy, leave me alone," "Stop poking me," "Work, work," and "Zug-zug" were common responses.
A peon, who wishes to remain anonymous (pending he sign a contract to work unconditionally for a Goblin cartel within the next two weeks), said he didn't know if he'd be able to cook, make bricks or keep warm during the night.
"Food not taste good without campfire. My tummy feels funny. And we may need more blankets for when I and Raider Bork share bed. Wait, is that recorder on? Me not that kind of Orc," the peon said.

Troll chef Zamja said the loss of the basic campfire would be a minor hardship for her students, but told them to hoof it to the nearest bonfire.
"I still catch some o' dem using me grills," Zamja said, her gold-and-diamond-studded tusks spelling "ZAM" jutting in disapproval.
Goblin Seefore Aredeeax of the slums said he hopes the Warchief will be tolerant of his people's penchant for pyromania, and will ask if explosives and flamethrowers will remain exempt from the ruling.
Trolls and Goblins are not the only ones troubled by the ruling. The Tauren, who usually are aloof of almost everything, including the killing of their late leader Cairne Bloodhoof at the hands of the new warchief, did show a bit of disappointment on today's ruling.
"How are we supposed to ... uh, smoke, ah, the seeds of our descendants and spirits of our ancestors, yeah?" said Tauren shaman Cheeto Mellowhoof.
But some are supportive of the new Warchief's ruling. A Silvermoon-based company specializing in magical-powered heat lamps expects to see sales skyrocket in Orgrimmar. The company also denies any connection between today's news and previous interactions in which money and a group of exotic Blood Elf dancers were sent to christen Warchief Hellscream's new palace.
Many who showed support for the ruling were Orcs. "How many times have my bare feet been burned by some idiot's campfire left in the middle of the street, by the mailboxes," said roaming drag merchant Felika, who sauntered away before this reporter could look at her wares.
Auction House Orc Thathung also said he was grateful for the ban.
"You know how long here I stand without a break and have to smell all these adventurers cooking their meats? I actually begged one guy for some Kibler's Bits he was cooking. And that's PET FOOD!" said Thathung, before an unidentified female Gnome rogue fatally sold him a Searing Gorge necktie later this afternoon.
While his supervisors and co-workers expressed their condolences, Auctioneer Thathung is expected to return to work in the next 10 minutes.
Described at 2 1/2 feet tall, with teal pigtails, freckles and a frighteningly cheerful demeanor, the blood-covered gnome fled into Ragefire Chasm and remains at large. Any warlocks or other residents of the Cleft of Shadow with information should answer to your nearest Kor'kron Watch commander.

Can someone please explain how will Thrall become the new Guardian of Tirisfal (if it's been mentioned in the game) ? I'm not really a lore person but this does intrigue me since I always thought that this "title" disappeared together with Medivh.
Fletcher Oct 8th 2010 7:38AM
He's not. The idea that Thrall would be the next Guardian is speculation based upon a blue post or something saying that the next Guardian would be an Orc - which turned out to be 1/4th true, because it ended up being Me'dan, Richard Knaak's mage-shaman-paladin quarter-orc quarter-draenei half-human wunderkind son of Garona and Medivh. Knaaaaaack!
Fortunately, we've also been assured that Me'dan will *not* be showing up in Cataclysm, praise be to Ghostcrawler.
Thrall is quitting his job as Warchief to go and do shaman-y things, notably stabilizing the rift in the Maelstrom torn open by Deathwing's emergence from Deepholm so that it doesn't rip the planet apart.
