Baron Soosdon is a classic machinimist. Not only did he help create so many of the techniques and styles we are accustomed to seeing, but he's been a mainstay support of the entire community. Baron Soosdon is just pretty awesome.
I'm So Sick is a favorite video of many. It enjoys the highly stylized, artistic feel that is shared by most of Soosdon's creations but also features some incredible model work. Ultimately, even if you don't dig the music, I'm So Sick should stand out visually as incredible machinima. I feel that the Baron's done more than simply create an artistic video; the narration seems to happen in a wholly new, exciting world.
This has been featured before, of course, but the video is strong enough to deserve a second look. Interested in the wide world of machinima? We have new movies every weekday here on WoW Moviewatch! Have suggestions for machinima we ought to feature? Toss us an email at machinima@wow.com.
This was the first 'real' machinima I watched and boy howdy, did it blow my socks off. I still enjoy Ulduar: Defiance more as a pure movie, but this is a good 'un.
In case anyone's wondering, that song is the "So Sick T-Virus Remix" from the Resident Evil Motion Picture soundtrack. Probably one of the best remixes I've ever heard, and I hate remixes.
This video is so great, that I often link it as an example for people new to machinima. Along with Oxhorn. You can't help but love Soosdon and Oxhorn's work :)
As tired as I am of belfs in the lead singer role, this is too full of Soosdonian creative awesomeness for me to complain. Seriously Baron - I have no idea HOW you manage to make the models and backgrounds do most of what they do.
For instance - belf female headbanging! My head 'sploded a bit right there. XD
Loved it!
Am I the only one who had BioShock flash-backs from the kid with the robot?
Hey I have a crazy request for you M. Gray and the rest of the WoW.com commenters. Can you compile a list of the WoW Machinima that essentially gets you pumped up to play a certain class? For example Frontline makes warriors (and even better, the Horde) look totally awesome. Craft of War: BLIND forces me to play on my rogue for a while whenever I watch it. Hopefully you get the picture. I realize this is personal taste-heavy but I have a feeling that if it's epic enough, it's liked enough.
This isn't a quiz either, I just honestly have a hard time finding specific kind of machinima like this.

I forgot to add that at the time I first watched it I had never heard of Flyleaf. This video introduced me to a great band, and I'm now a fan.

First time I've seen this one. Amazing! I was hesitant to even watch it because I don't really like most machinima. Best one I've seen by far.

Question: Has WoW movie watch featured Azerothian Supervillians? I'd assume so, but if it has, its before I started reading WoW.com
Angus Oct 7th 2010 2:01PM
They have indeed featured ASV. Watching Kael in Stormwind is still hilarious.
I believe they also featured the Sunwell voice over done by that Kael.

I'm so hoping he actually finishes that series. He said that one last one was coming. /crosses fingers

that has got to be one of the best music video machinima i've seen... absolutely incredible visually, and the flyleaf remix was perfect

P.S. This video makes me want to play a dark history kind of character like my warlock or death knight. That's why I thought of the request. Heh.
Kunikenwad! Oct 7th 2010 1:18PM
This one is definitely for warriors. HELL YEAH.

I was already a big fan of the Warrior class before I had seen the Frontline clip.
The Spell reflect at 2:09 just does it for me everytime though, I watch it atleast once a week now.
