Speaking of pop, Bejeweled 2 is free on PopCap.com today until 10 p.m. PST! Go get it!
Liam asked:
What is the difference between major and prime glyphs? I thought a tier of glyphs was supposed to be more fun and cosmetic now, but they seem the same to me, just changes to our spells.
Prime glyphs are no-brainer DPS/effectiveness increases. Major glyphs offer new utility or changes in your rotation that are hard to "math out." Minor glyphs give fun or cosmetic changes.
Draev asked:
What design or graphical limitation makes it so that casters (robe- and kilt-wearing casters) can't wear a tabard properly? It is always tucked in. Does Blizzard have plans to make it so that the tabard falls or does it involve a redesign of the graphical system?
To understand the limitation, you have to understand how character models work. A character model is made up of several different animated 3-D parts, or geosets. When you change your hairstyle, you're changing the hair geoset. When you put on a pair of legplates with plated armor, you're changing your leg geoset.
The lower part of the tabard design, the hangy-downy part, uses a particular geoset slot. The issue is that when a character is wearing robes, the slot that the tabard geoset would normally take up is filled by the robe geoset. The game can't display both at the same time, so it chooses the "important" one (your robes).
Moorit asked:
My resto shaman has a few pieces of cloth and leather gear on. Will the incentive for wearing all mail come in with 4.0.1 or 4.0.3? Where can I find a list of the bonuses, so I know how much to worry about it?
The armor class bonuses are straight 5 percent increases to your primary stat (strength, agility or intellect) for wearing only the highest armor class available to you.
Dragonrose asked:
Why are there no worgen female gameplay videos that I'm aware of? I know the models are out but is it even possible to create one and play it?
Female worgen aren't currently playable.

I read "Pop", and I was totally ready to derail the comment section with a link to Bejeweled 2. But you linked that already :D

Unfortunately Popcap's servers seem to be buckling under the strain. : (
I have to say, though, I'm worried, I only bought Plants vs. Zombies the other day and I'm terribly addicted already...
Knob Oct 10th 2010 4:53PM
Then you'll be glad Cata now has a Peacebloom vs Ghouls quest in Hillsbrad. Now you can game in your game and be addicted while being addicted.
Rob Oct 10th 2010 4:53PM
Yeah i can't get it either. Oh well.
Drakkenfyre Oct 10th 2010 5:06PM
If the download servers are overloaded, don't worry about it.
The code you get is good for any time. Simply hit "buy", get the code, then wait. If you are having problems with the purchasing server, then that's another story.
Kolyarut Oct 10th 2010 5:21PM
The download servers seem fine - but the purchasing and authentication servers are borked. ;)
Anyhow, I'm finally set now - but still, anyone who doesn't have this yet, patience will be required. But hey, I'm not complaining, free stuff for free is full of win.

It's like getting drunk while you're already drunk. You'll never have a hangover.

Hi queue! I have a question about 1-60 leveling in Cata.
Back at the last Blizzcon, there were several "level flow" maps shown, which seemed to indicate that there would be four to six different leveling regions (northern Kalimdor, southern Eastern Kingdoms, etc.) that a character could quest through and hit 60 without ever leaving it.
Do these still exist?
Knob Oct 10th 2010 4:48PM
Yes, those still exist. You can reach 1-60 in a particular section of a continent if you wish. It's even encouraged in a way in that there are now specific vendors that will sell you stuff like a 16-slot bag at a particular level when you hit a pre-determined reputation with a city, which you will if you're questing in that section of the continent. This helps new chars on a server immensely.
Additionally, there are these task boards that exist in capital cities that will give you breadcrumb quests to the current zones at your level. For example, at level 30, the task board in Orgrimmar has breadcrumbs for Desolace and Southern Barrens. You can choose where you want to go to quest. You'll never have to wonder anymore where you should go at a particular level.
MikeLive Oct 10th 2010 4:48PM
In a way, yes. But nothing is clearcut and later zones get shared. An admin at WoWwiki has a nice region/level distribution table.

You can do it now. It is possible to level Horde characters without ever leaving the northern half of the Eastern Kingdoms.
Eversong -> Ghostlands [or Tirisfal -> Silverpine] -> Hillsbrad -> Arathi -> Alterac -> Hinterlands -> Western Plaguelands -> Eastern Plaguelands
As long as you include plenty of dungeoneering in there you won't even need to cross the Thandol Span, or take a zeppelin to Org.
That won't be possible come Cataclysm though. =\

Hey Q
What is happening with the Darkmoon faire is cata?
Cheers J
Formatted22 Oct 10th 2010 4:09PM
In my haste to type this quickly it appears I miss spelt faire! So EDIT to Fair!
Thanks
Deathknighty Oct 10th 2010 4:12PM
Nope, it's faire. :D
Radioted Oct 10th 2010 4:15PM
What you really did wrong was use the word "is" twice. :P
Bogoradwee Oct 10th 2010 4:17PM
This is full of all sorts of fail.... "miss spellt?" Really?! And it IS spelled "faire," but I might have misunderstood what you were trying to say on that one.
Bernie Roscoe Oct 10th 2010 4:27PM
[joke about Formatted22's name and how he formatted his post incorrectly, possibly including a Catch-22 reference]
Deathknighty Oct 10th 2010 4:32PM
Ok, people, people, allow me to issue you a modified and corrected version of what he said:
"What is happening with the Darkmoon Faire in Cataclysm?"
There. All fixed. But seriously, give him a break, he even pointed out that he was typing in a hurry because he didn't want his post getting shoved several pages back. It's not full of fail, just typed hastily.
Bvannas Oct 10th 2010 7:17PM
I belive it is still staying and still travelling similar to its current incarnation. However I would imagine it has been changed along with the other areas.
My source is: http://cata.wowhead.com/item=62045#starts - the quest from the item states that you return it to the Darkmoon Faire when it comes to town.

My question for the queue...
