Blizzard announces patch 4.0.1 releases tomorrow

Bashiok -- Extended Maintenance 4.0.1 Release - 10/12Extended maintenance will begin tonight at midnight, Tuesday, October 12 for the release of patch 4.0.1. Maintenance will begin at 12:01 AM PDT and conclude at approximately 12:01 PM PDT. During this time all realms and many web services will be unavailable.

I'm no statistician, but I do have some commonsense and a basic understanding of simple, repeated patterns.
Based on this, the likelyhood of servers being playable at 12:01 PM PDT is approximately 10.13%

Hey, I hate to derail a post, but I'm hoping to not get lost in the sea of comments...
Anybody know if there's a way to check how much has been downloaded? For some reason background downloader isn't starting, so I don't know if it's done, or if it's just being weird.

I think the total d/l was 4.7 gb or something like that. Chances are you've probably had it downloaded for a while.

It took awhile on the PTR, but I think that's because they were still implementing it. Even when it went in, it was buggy and incomplete.
I am guessing a week or two as well. Give us time to get used to the new talents and abilities, then activate it. Would suck to get tossed in immediately, go up against the event bosses, and get your !@# beat immediately because you don't know how your class works now.

^ I agree. I think the plan is probably for us to learn our new talent trees, glyphs and whatnot this month, for the pre-Cata events to take place during the entire month of November (probably going to make Thanksgiving interesting!) and then bam, everything else Cataclysm-releated when we buy it in December.

I've been under the impression the world events were dropping with 4.03. I blame wow insider for cramming my little brain with info (as well as alcohol for moving said info around).
