Bashiok -- Extended Maintenance 4.0.1 Release - 10/12Extended maintenance will begin tonight at midnight, Tuesday, October 12 for the release of patch 4.0.1. Maintenance will begin at 12:01 AM PDT and conclude at approximately 12:01 PM PDT. During this time all realms and many web services will be unavailable.

@fearinlight: While there is the start of The Event with some quests & such, with changes beginning to happen....THE EVENT won't happen until 4.0.3. Then it's going to get real fun. :)

there have many events already, the small quakes, the asault on RS and some events will start tomorrow, cultists etc, but THE event will be oct 23 somewhere around 10:30 - 11:30 PST

No. You won't get the next 5 levels in this patch.

I was just curious how they are going to balance the points in the new talent trees. Simple question, did not require a crazy answer. Next time I will be more succinct when asking... Thank you Mr. critical.

You asked a question people have asked repeatedly.
The next levels are expansion-content. Why would they let us level without buying the expansion? It would also be hard to level to 85 in the current zones. They wouldn't release the new zones either.
If you had thought about it, you would have had your answer.

You won't get any Cataclysm content (including 80-85) with this patch. Event should start a few weeks before 7/12, it's way too ealy now.

I don't think he was reffering to the new water effects. The new water effects are just that, effects. Not necessarily new content. He was referring to the changed zones and stuff like that. At least I believe he was.

@Joker: Water is quite different than new content, leveling, quests & dungeons. And yes, the new water was on the PTR and looks fantastic.
