I'm on the same boat. But I've already get used to the idea. I don't care anymore about Arthas, honestly. I just want Cata to hit ASAP.

Man I hope we still can. My guild just got to him a couple of weeks ago and we're still trying get him down before Cataclysm. Good thing we're trying again tonight. Here's hoping!

Actually DPS numbers on the PTR and Beta for raid-geared level 80s are generally higher. You might actually find it -easier- to make it to the Lich King and kill him now.

I've gotten most of my pre-Cata checklist accomplished, but this (defeating Arthas) remains my big unfinished item. Although I didn't hit 80 until some time after ICC was fully opened, I've realistically had enough time.... I just didn't get serious about it until too late.

All hope isn't lost, however. I have no idea how big of an impact the 4.01 changes will have on the current raids, but it could go either way. Regardless, Icecrown Citadel is probably a good place for raiders to get a serious feel for their class changes... after slogging through some random dungeons first. Don't assume that your chances of getting your Kingslayer title are gone once the new patch goes live. Take some time to relearn your class and get used to raiding with your fellow guildmates (or PUGgers) with the new mechanics.

If nothing else, maybe the groups that have moved on to heroic ICC raids will revisit the regular modes, giving the rest of us more chances to get into a decent ICC group.

Let's hope he becomes easier. I'm in a new guild with new people, where most of 'em don't even have 5k GS. So it's going really slow, but we are trying 8( I hope we can get our Kingslayer title still.
