The Queue: Welcome to arf

In case you couldn't tell, the headline for today's edition of The Queue is a desperate attempt at an Independence Day joke that someone else may or may not have already made. Enjoy!
Darkseid asked:
What is the deal with worgen females? Why do they seem to be taking Blizzard so long to get anything done with them?
I think Blizzard is having a hard time figuring out how to make them look good. What should a female werewolf look like? How do you make them feral but also feminine without making them look completely silly? Should they have hair to make them look feminine (like they had originally) or just big furry manes like the males have, to look feral? Blizzard has done more significant visual overhauls of the worgen than it has of any other race in the game since World of Warcraft's alpha phase, as far as I can tell. Every time it updates them in the beta client, there's something about them that is significantly different than it was previously. The female worgen in the header image? Those screenshots were from just a few weeks ago, and I'm fairly certain the models don't even look like that anymore.
I'll give Blizzard's modelers the benefit of the doubt here; it is legitimately hard to find a balance between feral and feminine when doing this sort of thing. Too feral and people might not want to play them (crazed chihuahua syndrome). Too feminine and things get a little ... weird.
chyllyphylly asked:
What is happening to the WoW Insider Show? The last episode seems to have been 11 days ago.
When we changed domains, it caused some issues with our iTunes feed. That caused recording, editing and scheduling to fall out of the wondrous harmony it had before. From where I stand, things are looking just about caught up now and you should have at least two episodes of the WoW Insider show coming your way this week. We have been recording them this whole time, so if you're a faithful listener of the WoW Insider Show, you have quite a bit of content coming your way.
Adamr1234 asked:
Should I get heirlooms for my alts now or when Cataclysm hits? Also, is it worth giving heirlooms to a level 56 druid?
Buy them now. Immediately, before emblems turn into justice points. The justice point prices are set to scale to how quickly you'll accrue justice points at level 85, which is higher than how fast you'll get them at level 80. So compared to what heirlooms are priced right now, they will be more expensive when their prices shift over to justice points. Unless you're going to wait until level 85 to buy your heirlooms, you'll be getting ripped off.
Debesun asked:
Has there been any word on a fishing bag? I'm sick of having to rinse and (thoroughly) clean my bags to get rid of the smell that always gets the attention of those dang Dalaran alley cats that constantly follow me around.
I know tigrian answered your question sufficiently in the comments yesterday, but I felt I should point out his answer, anyway, because it was something I had no idea about.
Lure Master Tackle Box! It's a 36-slot bag (well, box) that holds lures, fish, Rumsey Rum and just about everything else related to fishing. I dig it.
Johnnytorrance asked:
Is it too early to believe that Blizz might announce the next expansion in this coming up BlizzCon?
Yes.

Make them look exactly the same as male worgen, except with prominent eyelashes and lipstick, it works for cartoons.
Skrotus Oct 11th 2010 11:19PM
And on a side note, they should have boobs, but for the sake of
anatomical accuracy, they should have 6 of them.

"And on a side note, they should have boobs, but for the sake of anatomical accuracy, they should have 6 of them."
How do you define anatomical accuracy of a fantasy creature based loosely on werewolves, which are themselves a fantasy creature and have numerous incarnations depending on which of many cultures you are plundering as a source.

Preparing for the new patch, I had a question while browsing wowhead:
In the new glyph system, you'll need a special reagent (Dust of Disappearance) which currently reqsuired 475 Inscription (!). Further it seems from the description of the Dust, that it requires level 81 to use.
That would seem to indicate that we won't be able to change our glyphs until Cataclysm, as we cannot remove current glyphs.
Or did I miss something?
cedric.roland Oct 12th 2010 2:34AM
Nevermind, I just went browsing the appropriate topic on the forums and got my answer:
"At level 80 and below, players will use Vanishing Power (Midnight Ink x1). This reagent will be available for purchase from Inscription vendors and can be crafted by scribes using using low-level materials. Scribes with a skill level of at least 75 will be able to learn the recipe for Vanishing Power at their trainer.
At level 81 and above, players will use Dust of Disappearance (Blackfallow Ink x2). Similar to Vanishing Power, it will be available for purchase from Inscription vendors once Cataclysm is released and can be crafted by scribes with a skill level of at least 475."

Question:
With the change to the lockout system coming with the patch will the shadowmourne quest items (such as the acidic bloods) be available in 10 man or will i have to get saved to a 25 man every week till I get them?

Does anyone know what's happening with the Warcraft Movie? Last news we heard was from a year ago when Sam Raimi (who I'm still on the fence about) was attached to direct and it was to have a budget of around $220million. However I keep reading news about Raimi being attached to other projects since Spider-Man was taken off him, which seems to leave Warcraft in development limbo.

I think the female Worgen are a disaster. I cannot understand why Blizzard dropped the original wolf-like model and made a new one that looks like a cross between a small breed of dog and a porn star with breast implants. The old model was not finished, they could have added a mane and some different muzzle shapes for customisation, but it was a good starting point.

Males look wolfish and fierce, although the snarl is a bit overdone. The females just look pathetic.

I was helping a guildmember the other day who was working on Loremaster title.
For the quest I used a low rank frostbolt to not instant kill the mob. Mob needed to be at low health to be captured.
How is this going to work with the new spellsystem where your spells scale with your level?

Has Teldrassil changed in Cataclysm due to the effect of what happened in the Stormrage novel?

Hopefully this is not too late for this question.
Since we still have no clue what the female wargen dance is, I have been trying to figure out what the Male Wargen has been based on with no avail. To me it's a Tap Dancing number similar to Fred Astaire's - Puttin' on the Ritz (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IFabjc6mFk4) but other people claim it's Justin Timberlake. Who do I belive?

I've been having some issues viewing the mobile version of wowinsider on my phone. I used to be able to send my phones browser to i.wow.joystiq.com and it worked fine until yesterday. Now everytime I try the mobile site, the full site appears. Any reason why?
thanks

Also, if I direct my browser to m.wow.joystiq.com it comes up with the mobile version of the site, but once I click on an article it reverts to the full version.
