Well, how does the Joker rank with you as a villain? I can't say much for his origins (with only the movies and the cartoons under my belt), but he's pretty much the "evil for the sake of evil" sort of villain.

It's difficult to delve into "elder ones" and other creation-level creatures because they're practically forces of nature. They don't do what they do for any conceivable (to us) reason, they just . . . are.
