Around Azeroth Beta Edition: Mutiny
Yawn. Just another raid on Orgrimmar, with masses of people killing the orc-in-chief. But wait ... is that Garrosh? And do the participants look larger and hairier than the usual Alliance types? "There's a bug on the beta realms that can sometimes lead to some players being tagged as Alliance when they get disconnected," writes Mofo. "Well, that kind of spread in Orgrimmar like the old Hakkar plague, and it ended up as a civil war. There were Horde killing Horde who were tagged as Alliance, and Orgrimmar guards tagged as Alliance one-shotting Horde players. We all predicted this would happen when Thrall left and put Garrosh in charge!"

Seems the best thing about beta is the crazy bugs.

In this particular case, it was Garrosh that was tagged with the Alliance buff, so the players attacking him are the true Horde while he is a two-timing, about-facing, backstabbing rat! What's also fun is the city bosses don't have the piddly 5mil health that they have on live realms, they have 103mil. It was quite a lot of fun having all the Horde of Orgrimmar rush into Grommash Hold and attack Garrosh; the server lag was intense. Trade and General Chat was filled with "WE WANT THRALL BACK!", "DOWN WITH GARROSH!" and other like comments.
This happens when two Horde teams meet up in War Games; one of the teams gets the Alliance buff so they can be attacked by the other Horde team. Now, if one member from that team gets disconnected and goes back to Org or any other city, he can spread that Alliance buff by attacking or being killed by other players/NPCs. That's how it spreads like the old Hakkar plague.

103 mil? jeeeeez
Lets take them with us to kill deathwing? Let Garrosh tank, just don't /taunt him

@Knob: I wish I could have been there. The first thing I do every day on the beta, before my cooking and fishing dailies, is go /slap and /spit on Garrosh. It's like coffee--can't start the day without it. Now if I could only kill him, too...

It's not a bug. Any emote made by a Horde player directed at Garrosh now agroes Garrosh (and will agro nearby guards).
Hanak Oct 12th 2010 5:27AM
You're right. That's not a bug, that's a feature ^^

Ahh this happened on alliance side as well... Varian Wrynn kept turning horde and slaying his underlings, guards attacking each other.. good times! :)
Apparently it had something to do with the new war games feature for battlegrounds, according to the forums http://forums.worldofwarcraft.com/thread.html?topicId=27026398146&postId=270238774609
It was ofcourse soon followed by zombie event-like QQ in trade (though this wasn't near as bad; npcs and players kept switching back and forth between horde-alliance every few minutes, so most npcs needed were quickly available again)

What's hilarious is when Varian turned Horde, Horde players could actually go to Stormwind and get quests from him. :D

This isn't a bug, it's one of those rare times a future feature leaks out; this is actually from the final content patch for the expansion, 4.4, tentatively titled: "Okay, we're all sick of these idiot faction leaders squabbling, so now that Deathwing is dead, can we please take them down already." (Alternate, more concise title: "4.4: Long live Warchief A. B. Campfire and King Bolt of Linen Cloth.)

This bug needs to go live.
dashrendar72 Oct 12th 2010 10:12AM
Looks like some Horde members joined the Tea Party.

Isn't that something Kerrigan would say?
:)
(Wrong game, I know, but I couldn't resist the temptation!)
uncaringbear Oct 12th 2010 10:08AM
If only this could happen on live, even for just a day or two :)
cartoonheroii Oct 12th 2010 10:17AM
Best bug EVER!
Naris Oct 12th 2010 10:22AM
So does this let you kill annoying trolls in trade without having to pay for faction transfer or reroll as well?
Natsumi Oct 12th 2010 10:22AM
The Horde finally show their true colors.
Eternauta Oct 12th 2010 12:08PM
So did the Alliance in Totalbiscuit's video.
This kind of things make me sad I'm not in the beta =(
Cataca Oct 12th 2010 10:29AM
This would be awesome for some type of raid quest.
Just imagine, you and your raid are framed in some type of treachery and must go to Org/Stormwind in a "Battle for Undercity" style event.

I wish more stuff like this would happen in live. Quick! Nobody report this bug!
