Around Azeroth: I can't remember if we said goodbye
In one of those weird moments of cross-server continuity, druids across Azeroth came together to say goodbye to their beloved tree form Monday night. Massive tree parties rocked the streets of Dalaran on Vek'nilash (EU), Kirin Tor (US), Durotan (EU) and Wyrmrest Accord (US), as well as a dozen other servers. Cenarion Circle even had a tree raid! Not to be outdone, there were also scattered sightings of shamans bidding farewell to their sentry totems and paladins trying one last bubble-hearth. Kevin, the submitter of this screenshot, decided to give his tree form one last tour of Moonglade. Unfortunately, he was possessed in the process, and now the Demon Tree lies in wait, hoping to re-enact that scene from The Evil Dead.

I hope this tree will haunt dreams of whoever made the new tree form model decidedly masculine.

For real... The updated tree form actually makes me glad that my poor night elf doesn't have to shapeshift to heal. It's an interesting model, but a beard? On a female? Really?
benbettis Oct 13th 2010 11:13AM
Hey, be thankful for your beard. They took away the magnificent beard on the Guardian of Ancient Kings model for paladins :(
*granted it was only the icon on wowhead... but still. dreams were slaughtered.

I don't mind that much because druids in original lore were all male, but on the other hand, it does bother me to think of my pretty female night elf turning into a tree with a beard and a soul patch. =/

Agreed! Although the new forms look nice, what about the female tree druids!? Not that I plan to use it often, I mean if I'm in a situation where I need to quick pop tree of life and then quick heal the tank or someone.. chances are that if i'm going for a 2-click (or 2-button) heal i'm going with swiftmend/healing touch (or nourish).. not tree/someheal. I thought about not putting my talent point in it, but then.. I didn't want the things that were left anyway and on my 71 resto I've got about 10 more talents coming to me.

My raid's resto druid entered ICC and popped tree form to be followed by "ah shit! it's not a form anymore...".
There was much LOL and merryment.
Fairlane Oct 13th 2010 10:28AM
I'll swallow your soul.
TankadinSquared Oct 13th 2010 10:28AM
This is one of the saddest things to go, my tree form was why I played a resto druid. Doesn't make sense to not have tree form, they have cat form for dps, bear for tank why not tree for resto? why??????????
Jade Oct 13th 2010 2:58PM
So at least a couple druids actually wear that armor that the designers put so much time into. Otherwise they might as well make druid armor look like white cubes.
chainsawcharlie Oct 13th 2010 4:46PM
I think they should have taken away the moonchicken form. All it does is dps and look terrifying.
