I don't miss tree form as much as I miss my HOTS. HOTS feel like they tick for a ridiculously short amount of time now, especially the Regrowth HOT, and I don't like it at all. HOTs used to be a nice buffer, now they just feel like something you put up for a stronger Nourish or a Swiftmend Effloresence.

I don't miss treeform at all, I enjoy it being a cooldown you can use. The regrowth hot change doesn't bother me so much, they added quite a bit of heal to the front end of it so it seems more useful now, I miss rejuv being 18seconds though :(. As far as nourish I'm not really sure what the crap I'm supposed to be doing with it :/

You're supposed to be using it to heal the tank when he isn't in danger of dying, so as not to waste mana on expensive things like regrowth or healing touch.
Oh yeah. At 85.

I don't think Blizzard's intention was to make our HOTs feel like little more than "something you cast so you can cast something else better". Just sayin'.

Are you sure, Snuzzle? Resto druid mastery is pretty much that.

Hollow Leviathan, perhaps better words to use would have been "I hope" and not "I don't think," because the severel downplaying of HOTs really negatively impacts the class's flavor and feel. I don't want my HOTs to be for pure flavor, either. I want them to mean something like they used to.
If this is indeed the way Blizzard wants HOTs to feel then it's also strange that there would be so many talents focusing on or buffing our HOTs (I count nine HOT talents, not talent points but talents, as opposed to just four buffing our direct heals). Making them essentially superfluous seems, well, a bit silly. Maybe things will change in Cataclysm when mana actually matters. We'll see.

As far as I can tell, Blizzard intended to thoroughly gut the resto druid like they did. HoTs are now in fact some small thing you cast to buff a direct heal. In most cases that will just be rejuv if you need 1-3 HoTs or people are spread out, or WG if everyone is grouped up. Because of the changes, I haven't even respecced my druid's 2nd spec yet, he used to be feral/resto.
One thing I'm curious about, is that other healers get their efficient heal at low levels, while druids get theirs at 78. Do the spells really cost so much at lower levels? E.g. at lvl 20, you generally have about 5-10 int on your gear so you're really close to base mana. That would allow you to cast 5 rejuvs (at 20% base mana), which don't heal for much, before you run out. Or 3 Regrowths (at 35% base mana).
I actually haven't run with a resto druid since the patch. I've seen Efflorescence on the ground here and there, so I know there's at least a couple out there.
