If you go to Auctioneer's web site they have a demo version of the new version I installed it last night and it seems to be working great for my needs, so that's an option too. And shhhh about the vanishing powder, your ruining it for all the people who figured that out LOL :)

Seconding that the development version of Auctioneer is working fairly decently now.

Actually, you don't need the developer version. The preview version is 5.9, and is quite a bit more stable than the dev version.

The broken portion of 5.8 is appraiser. 5.9 has fixed the bug.

Yes, confirming that some basic research could have informed Our Dear Author that Auctioneer is working fine as the Preview version.
