Razer unleashes epic version of the Naga gaming mouse

The Razer Naga Epic's dual-mode functionality allows the mouse to be used wirelessly or with a braided mouse cord that charges the mouse during gameplay. It also comes with a charging dock for charging the mouse during downtime. The Razer Naga Epic is aimed at all MMO gamers, with support for various MMOs such as Warhammer Online and City of Heroes, but there's no question that the mouse is targeted squarely at World of Warcraft players, with its epic nomenclature and purple glow (the regular Naga only glows blue) that can actually be configured to cycle through a possible 16 million color combinations. Razer also promises in-game addons for better interface customization, although at this time, the RazerNaga addon is only at 1.2.2, which hasn't been updated for Patch 4.0.1. The Razer Naga Epic is available for pre-order at the Razer store and slated to ship by the end of November, retailing for an equally epic $129.99.

Pretty epic dude.
No really, I have been contemplating buying one of the originals for quite a while, but havent yet. I like the idea of being wired or wireless.

It's almost twice as expensive though :\

ARGH! Why do they do this to me? I'm not a fan of wirless mice to be honest but the ability to switch those side plates out would be nice. I've been finding my pinkie sore from play of late. ARGH!
I just spent like, $100 for a pair of headphones. I'll have to save my pennies. XD

You can probably get it during an eBay gold bid run.

I think having a mouse like this would be cool, but I haven't yet been able to justify buying a mouse with more than just the standard three buttons yet haha. But this is VERY pretty.

If you do almost any sort of gaming, this can be a real boon, really. Quick access to weapon hotkeys for FPSs, control groups for RTSs, keybinds for MMOs, it's fairly amazing how big of a difference it makes once you start using it.
And although the add-on hasn't been updated for 4.0.1, it still works as is. Or at least my somewhat older version of it does.

@Mistat - I think my bigger issue would be remembering to use the other buttons. I have enough trouble remembering to use the middle button on my mouse =P.

get one. you game will improve. PvP is much easier. i thought it would be difficult to get used to but it becomes second nature. the addon is nice too, simple yet does exactly what i need it to do. it gives you the ability to add modifier key to an action bar. i have it set so i can hold the shift key and it will switch Action bar 1 to action bar 2, and i can use the 1-12 keys for action bar 2. release and it goes back to 1.

Bought one and returned it to Best Buy 3 days later.
I gave it a serious try but couldn't adjust to it. The smoothness of it is amazing but the thing is so light that hitting buttons with your thumb moves your cursor all over the screen. I put 3 solid days of playing into learning.. started simple, worked my way up. Had 24 buttons bound to it with no problems remembering where I put them. Something about doing EVERYTHING with my right hand just made my play much worse. My advice: Give it a try but keep your receipt.
Meatwadz Oct 14th 2010 3:05PM
To clarify: This would be good for casters but for melee it feels clunky and awkward.
Gnowaï Oct 14th 2010 9:27PM
It's definitely worth it.
All your hotkeys can be put on the TWELVE side buttons, plus, through modifier keys (shift, alt, ctrl) it allows you to access up to 8 action bars with just the side keys. All my spells, all my trinks and gear, all my pets are controlled through just my mouse.

Maybe they can update their Addon first so the LUA errors stop and shammy's totems aren't broken lol.
Iree Oct 14th 2010 3:41PM
i thought i was the only one. i did noticed that if you disables the totem addon the xp bar came back.
