I see a need for another ranged Physical DPS, but it's hard to think of any. I would also love to see Monk's but I feel like thematically they are unfit for WoW. If we had Pandarean as a Playable Race on the other hand =P

How about a throwing weapon specialist?

I am totally picturing a Diablo 2 era Javazon transplanted into WoW right now, and I am liking it!

The problem with Throwing Weapons is that then Rogues\Warriors have to be balanced around Throwing Weapons being significantly more powerful. It would be cool if they could throw it off, but I have doubts. The only time I've seen such a thing gracefully done is the Amazon in Diablo 2, and Blizzard would get beheaded by their fan-base for copying one of their iconic classes from a different game universe.

Iminick is right. A throwing weapon class would be awesome. And know what it could be? Ninja.

The difficulty with adding a ranged DPS class is that they would also need pets, since the reason hunters have them is to help keep mobs at a distance.

Ranger.
A ranger would obviously be a ranged melee class, but they could have melee combat and healer specs as well.
There's definitely room for another mail-wearer.
There's precedent in the game - Sylvanas is a ranger, and there are dark rangers all over the place.

@Xenocide: Rogues and Warriors are already balanced around using guns, bows and crossbows even though the hunters are using them as their main way of doing damage so it wouldn't be a problem to balance thrown weapons if a class used them in a major way imo.
but thrown weapons would just look weird in wow tbh. i really don't see a class doing DPS by throwing 2 inch stars at a target. maybe a javelin class...

My mage and my shadow priest suggest you take your pet and shove it. :)

Not really Jack; mages, priests and shamans do fine at range without pets.
They just need a better way to snare/slow and perhaps not have a minimum range.

I don't particularly like playing ranged DPS but I do like the idea of a ranged DPS with strong melee abilities. How about The Gunslinger.
Pistol whip stun move and rifle swipe.
Quick draw skill that allows you to always get the first shot.
Dual wielding pistols, or main hand pistol/off hand dagger.
Quick-switch pistol to rifle to shotgun for different situations.
First ever sniper-mode skill where you can hit the targer with one shot from double to distance of any other class.
Several evasive talents.
Opening quest chain could be a tribute to The Dark Tower.

I always thought a Shadow-Hunter/Voodoo kinda thing would be amazing. Another class to effectively use bows and possibly heal as well. Two needed birds with 1 stone!

Troll axe-throwers were a basic unit in Warcraft II, and have made an appearance in every Warcraft Universe game since. It's really shocking when you think about it that there is no class in the game today that makes significant use of throwing weapons. Rogues have one skill to support them, and that's it. So, yes, thumbs up for the throwing-weapons class, it's long overdue and a gaping hole in the game vs. the lore...
