My wife and I have played together for years. But the past few months, the game lost some of its luster for her. She just wasn't feeling it, and as a result, she let it go on the back burner. So this morning, when I woke up and walked downstairs, the last thing I expected was to see her avidly taming new pets in Sholazar Basin. But there she was, relearning the hunter class, exploring the new pet management system, saying things like, "Oh, right, I forgot that's how shooting works now," and basically loving the game for the first time in months and months.
And we haven't even gotten the new content yet.
For someone like me, change can be kind of scary, because I'm comfortably used to how things are working. Drastic changes that push me out of my comfort zone and force me to relearn things can be intimidating. Therefore, I sometimes forget that such changes can also be liberating. In effect, you end up playing a substantially new class, and get that sense of discovery back that we all had the first time we played the game.
So, with my wife's example in mind, I ask: Have you come back or given
WoW a new look because of the changes in
patch 4.0.1?

It sure did! I have been gone for roughly 6-7 months, but with the new patch I decided to come back and I am thoroughly lost, but it is like exploring the game for the very first time, even with an 80 :D
