Considering some of the world effects the Nightmare had according to the book, you'd think it could be one of the pre-Cata events to explain how Malfurion returns to Azeroth, as well as seeing those effects and realizing the Emerald Nightmare is acting up as well.
But so far it seems that much like King Varian's return and characterization, everything happens out of game and people HAVE to read supplement material to understand a major lore point and why it's set up the way it is (Varian's behavior makes more sense if you read the comic, assuming you can get past the art, and writing, in some issues).
I really hope Blizzard proves me wrong on this, but knowing people in Beta, so far I'm not seeing a lot of evidence to the contrary. -_-
As for the WG flying machine issue...ugh.
