I guess I might be able to take a stab at an answer of my own, but...

I've not read the Warcraft novels. I started to read my bf's copy of Arthas but didn't get to finish it. Every time someone mentions this guy there are responses like- KNAAAAAAAAAAK. So, what's wrong with him? I mean if he writes for Blizzard and they like his work, what could be so bad about it?
