The Daily Quest: Make it better

WoW Insider's on a Daily Quest (which we try to do every day, honest) to bring you interesting, informative and entertaining WoW-related links from around the blogosphere.
How about that patch, huh? Patch 4.0.1 turned everything we know about our classes upside down. It was upsetting, it was unnerving and it was a bit buggy -- heck, it's still a bit buggy. Plenty of new things to play with, but we still mourn the loss of old, beloved spells and companions. Here are a few posts from around the blogosphere giving heartfelt tributes to things that are no longer with us:
- World of Matticus has an ode to the Sentry Totem (and a guide to 4.0.1 shaman glyphs).
- The issue has since been fixed, but Cynwise's Battlefield Manual has a wonderful post dedicated to her beloved warlock minions and their sudden absence.
- World of Warcraft Philosophized has a lovely photo tribute to the Tree of Life.

This week at "Tales from the Void", I put up another longwinded rant in support of the idea that many "alternative" playstyles can indeed be "working as intended" in the free-form future of WoW:

Other more recent posts ask if the "strong leader" we're supposed to have to make heroics PUGable is actually being provided by the dungeon finder... It's not like we *have* to click the green chankmark! ;)

What I don't like about the patch is the way tanks can't keep up with the dps (and thus aggro) of the other classes. By the way, don't blame the healer for not being to keep the dps alive.

I wouldn't say the warlock pet name issue is fixed. They said they'd fix it, but I still have the wrong demons.

A BIT buggy?
Hmm yesterday - while logging in solely todo the horseman event - i managed to DC 2 times during a 5 min segment of 1st accidentally mouseovering the pumpkin and 2nd time when then zoning out of the instance.
Let alone let's not mention the horrible sounds issues in raids.
So let's put it in another manner - pretty much unplayable..

When someone finally got the event started (I DC'd twice myself) our tank and healer were both found to be DC'd. After releasing from the wipe, I was DC'd trying to zone back in. Needless to say after I rebooted my system and deleted my cache folder I was no longer in a group.
I can't put up my lock candy up in BGs because people will DC trying to get a stone.
I haven't checked, but I'm hoping Blizz has found the fix for the mouse over/cogwheel issues.

One minor-ish thing that "bugged" me was my achievement for "Filling up the Barn" was 1 less after the patch, 21/25 pre patch 4.0.1, and 20/25 after, according to the GM who answered my ticket, the Paladin Charger doesn't count as a mount anymore for some reason :( Even though my "mounts" tab counts 21.
