I hope whatever plot development happens is explained, not assumed, in the MMO. I don't really enjoy when they just plop in original characters from tertiary sources and act like it's always been that way.

Agreed, especially since prior to reading WoW Insider, I had no idea that there were books about WoW. If I didn't know that (I love to read), I'm sure most players didn't either.
