Irdeen has really proven his ability to create musical machinima that captures the community's imagination. Boom De Yada was obviously a huge hit, and now we all get to see the answer to What would Warchief Garrosh do?
Five young friends enter Orgrimmar after the Cataclysm only to discover that Thrall has given over control of the Horde to Garrosh. At first, the boys aren't sure what to think of all these radical changes. The only way to set their minds at ease is ... song!
The song is an obvious parody of What would Brian Boitano do? from the South Park's movie in 1999. Interested in the wide world of machinima? We have new movies every weekday here on WoW Moviewatch! Have suggestions for machinima we ought to feature? Toss us an email at machinima@wow.com.
I fear that, because of stuff like this, people will actually start liking Garrosh. Bah, it might come to the point where any critical opinions of the new warchief will get downvoted by the "cool kids".
In the new "The Shattering" cata prelude novel, Garrosh is actually fleshed out and, while flawed, isnt all that bad of a guy to be honest. He's hot headed & brash, but he deeply and truly has his people in mind when he acts.
He also has the sends the single most bad ass missive to Magatha Grimtotem after he finds out the trechery she played upon him and cairne bloodhoof.
I think it's the opposite. The "cool kids" are the ones who jumped on the "Garrosh is horrible" bandwagon.
Those who actually read questlines, novels and pay attention to events (I.E. geeks and nerds) know that Garrosh is actually a good warchief who cares deeply for his people.
His only problem is his hotheadedness... but that comes with his young age.
Remember, Thrall chose him. He didn't force himself to the seat.
You can flesh him out all you want AFTER he's been a total dick, and it still leaves a damned bitter taste. With Garrosh, he really had no reason to be such a douche to the humans, save for the fact that he was a fanboy for his damn father.
Varian at least had a backstory and a pretty damn good reason to loathe every greenskin asshole out there. Those who keep saying Varian's just an irrational bastard really should read up on lore.
No. Garrosh is a brainless bag of dildoes. I'd rather follow the command of a hippo with half its face carved off.
Did Wrynn have a book released BEFORE he was introduced back into the game as a major figure? Yes.
Did Garrosh have a book released BEFORE he was introduced back into the game as a backstabbing, irrational bag of dildoes in Northrend? No.
Did Garrosh GET a book written AFTER he was portrayed as a bag of dildoes? Yes.
Damage cannot be undone. Hell, even if a book about how Hitler did all these wonderful things in contrast to the holocaust came out TODAY, people will still hate him for what he did.
Victory or Death? = Warchief Garrosh Peace and Harmony? = Warchief Thrall
I love Thrall and all... Honestly; that's even why I play on the Thrall server. I am honestly hoping that Garrosh will usher in some asskicking towards the Alliance.
The problem is that the immediate things we see are his prattishness. He disrespects Vol'jin. He is obviously not respected that much by Cairn, as Cairn challenged him to a duel. He marches around like he knows so much about the world, when in reality he has no clue about politics or Azeroth, and doesn't listen to those that do.
It's not that I ever jumped on a bandwagon. I just don't like warmongering tempermental jerks, whatever the justification for them. Now, can I appreciate the way he is written and like his story? Yes. But that doesn't mean I have to like the character of Garrosh. They are separate issues.
I am one of the people that hate Garrosh, but love that he is in power. /cackles at all the precious storylines, especially for trolls, coming her way.
Granted, I do use Nazis/Hitler for comparison very often, but honestly, Garrosh is pretty much up there.
Garrosh says he thinks about his people above all else... Just not Belfs or Undead or even Trolls. Or the Alliance, although he has ZERO personal reasons to hate them. Oh, and he loves backstabbing them while they're fighting BOTH the undead.
Hitler says he thought about his people above all else... Just not Jews.
By the time the next expansion comes around, I suspect the only thing holding Horde AND Alliance together DESPITE the "leadership" of their respective first-among-equals races will be the need to stand together against the Lich Queen.
Oh wait, its totally a good comparison because Hitler ordered the genocide of an entire race while Garrosh he...um... oh yea, killed some humans in a video game. I totally get it now!
If you want to continue disliking Garrosh, DON'T read The Shattering! You won't completely like him (no promises), but you may well be sympathetic to him. Oh, and don't quest through Stonetalon Mountains as a Horde player, or even BEGIN questing in Stillpine Forest, because he comes across as pretty cool there too.

I don't know what is worse. That Garrosh is really becoming warchief (I put it out like a bad memory) or that you are most likely right...

Must admit, this made me like Garrosh for a second.
Then I remembered how he treats Vol'jin.
Ahhh, there's that hatred.

Same here, I hate Garrosh but the vid almost made me like him for a sec. Then I remmebered he's a total asshole.
Props to Irdeen, great video.

By the way, Frank, Garrosh is OLDER than Thrall. Just sayin'.
Also, you should do some of the Alliance quests. Know all those dying soldiers at IceCrown? They were ambushed by the Horde.
Know who ordered it? Garrosh.

The fact that he punches Varian Wrynn in the face is enough of a reason for me to like him.
