Breakfast Topic: Ambassador Jenkins, Bane of The Fallen King
This Breakfast Topic has been brought to you by Seed, the Aol guest writer program that brings your words to WoW Insider's pages.
Though just a word or phrase tacked on to your name, titles hold great weight. They announce your accomplishments to the world: You are a gladiator, slayer of kings, and master of the kitchen. They can mark you as a member of an exclusive (sometimes extremely so) club. As you wander around Dalaran, others stare in awe at your insanity, your sheer dedication to your chosen path. For some, titles represent an achieved goal -- you are a seeker, loremaster, explorer, spending days trekking across continents, slaying mighty monsters and harmless critters for assorted organs. Others are incessant partiers, traveling from lunar festivals to winter celebrations always dressed for the season, fireworks in one hand, booze in the other.
Personally, I've always stuck to short titles. There is something about "Ambassador" and "The Seeker" that have always appealed to me. These titles lend a bit of mystery to my toons; am I actually seeking something, or am I just a huge The Who fan? Why is an ambassador standing naked outside of ICC? Am I really that salty?
How do you present yourself to Azeroth? Have you achieved that one goal, earned the only title you ever need? Or are you in constant flux, a new identity every week? What's your favorite title?

Loremaster - hands down - until i grind the insane :)

I have loremaster as well- and it took lots of grinding! But I still use my Grand Crusader at all times. It was a grind to get this title..wipe after wipe, week after week till all 25 members of our raid did everything perfectly :)

Same... I've worn the title since I got it over a year ago since it fits my personality. The only time I use another is when I pvp. Then I wear my old school Sergeant title...

I really do wish that female toons had the option of being "Loremistress." But then The Seeker is pretty gender neutral.

Ditto for Loremaster. With the occasional Guardian of Cenarius because hey, nelf druid.
Every scrub, pug, and waste of skin on my realm has Kingslayer now and it really means nothing any more (again, on my realm. It's a bitch of a fight and congrats to everyone who downs him)
Though I am eyeing the Dragonslayer title, and 2 reps from The Exalted.
Human paladin's RP story has her as a refugee in Ironforge, so she sports the Of Ironforge title.

I personally prefer "Mooding of the Shattered Sun" on my warrior, while I have "Hamlet of the Nightfall" on my mage. Each title I obtain is atleast somewhat based on what I've done as that character, the personality they've developed as characters over my time playing them. For instance, I wouldn't give my Death Knight the Crusader title, simply because it wouldn't make sense to me.
So, as follows, my titles of choice are as follows.
Hamlet of the NIghtfall (Mage)
Mooding of the Shattered Sun (Warrior)
Ilsondre, Guardian of Cenarius (Druid)
Seriph, Bane of the Fallen King (Death Knight)
Viridiel the Argent Champion (Paladin)
Shurelia the Light of Dawn (Priest)
Duelist Mynoa (Rogue)

@Fierna: Postmistress is seldom used in the USA, as the 'master' in 'postmaster' refers to the authority, rather than the gender of the office holder. I suspect Loremaster was thought of the same way.

I prefer my 'Herald of the Titans', especially the fact I'm joining my old dwarven RP guild which the priests serve Eonar, effectively the Titan of Life.

I'm a bloodsail admiral. I don't think I've changed it since I've got it. I made a friend on the opposite faction once based on nothing more than us both having the title.

I'm Bloodsail Admiral Breccia . I'm the leader of the Pirate guild, so it would feel wrong to wear a title other than Admiral. I pose for kill screenshots in this outfit: http://www.wowhead.com/compare?items=12185:22744:22745:22743:22742:1493

Versant the Argent Champion , fits quite well for a paladin :)

Yep. Same for my pally.
At least until we drop Arthas....

I play a human Paladin so I switch between 'Crusader' and 'Of Stormwind'. Wish I could have both.

When I'm doing a task pertaining to a profession I like to put on, say, the Chef or Salty title to feel more integrated to my task. Normally I go without a title, though. To the world I am me--that's usually enough.

My two favorite titles (barring the old PVP ones) would have to be Salty (let's be honest, it's STILL a PitA to get) or Starcaller.
Starcaller is my absolute favorite, though. Mmmm ... Starcaller ...

I'm never much into looks and appearances, especially since it won't really yield you anything. Do you think your career or life will be better with a Bane title? But as for the topic at hand, i do tend to pursue one thing at a time. I did argent tourney for two months, really for no reason other than there wasn't anything else to do. Now i'm really interested (and have the time for) trying to down LK on 10 man normal. I finally got past Sindy with a phenominal PUG group (although I was pretty struck by the fairly simplistic mechanics on that fight, its really just the execution of the ice blocks in phase 3 that are hell). Unlike LK, where there is a ton and a half that is going on.

Personally I play video games for enjoyment, not because they will help my job or career.
I don't really know why you're playing if that is the goal of everything you do in WoW.
Noyou Oct 19th 2010 3:01PM
No see the point was to name your favorite- never mind.
Pseudo-Smart Oct 19th 2010 8:10AM
Loremaster, I did it without any of the questing add-ons so it's an achievement for me, plus I'm a lore geek so it fits.
Skarlette Oct 19th 2010 11:17AM
Exactly this for me. Not only did I complete Loremaster without addons, I had a large percentage of the quests done even before they introduced achievements into the game. I am truly a lore geek, and I almost always have Loremaster set as my title. I make the occasional exception for holidays but that's about it.
