With the release of patch 4.0.1, Operation Gnomeregan is no longer with us. But you can remember the event forever with Operation Gnomeregan by Cryssy and featuring Wick.
The graphics in this video were pretty impressive to me. I'm not sure what I was expecting, but they flowed much more smoothly than I had anticipated. The lens flare seemed a little strong to me in places, but the effect definitely conveyed a sense of technology and struggle. The vocals were also strong and showcased some nice expansion in Cryssy's skills. I look forward to seeing what comes next. Interested in the wide world of machinima? "As gay as AIDS", really? Listen, buddy. My LGBTQI friends and I don't like you using an important aspect of our identities as a pejorative, and anyway, AIDS isn't "gay". I don't know why people don't know this, but currently the fastest growing population with AIDS in the United States is straight women between the ages of 18 and 35. Probably has something to do with 80% of sexually active American men refusing to wear condoms. Maybe if straight men didn't think AIDS was "gay", they would protect themselves and their partners.
I tried to remember operation gnomeregan with this video and all i got was confused.
There was absolutely no reference to said event in the video, so the creator of the video was just name dropping to get more hits. also, what....what was the story taking place here?
all I could tell is that someone wanted to use belfs in a machinima video for the sex appeal, but kept talking about gnomes instead. the singing was so autotuned its impossible to make out any of the words.
Since I only have high lvl Horde toons I couldn't do Operation Gnomeregan, but have always been curious about it. Glad this video showed it all.
So apparently OG was about sexy Blood Elf dopplegangers having lots of sex and then changing into gnomes and dwarves in their post-coital bliss, while singing house music about it, and, uh, fighting with lightsabers at the end?
Way cooler than the Troll Echo Isle's campaign. I feel gypped. I don't want to hear anymore whining about Bliz favoring the Horde, ok people?
Was OpGno gone way too fast? I got it done, but it seems like most events get a little more time than this one did. And (I could be wrong) since there's nothing going on there now in game, it feels a little disjointed.
I'm a little disappointed that more of the event hasn't happened yet. Echo Isles and Operation Gnomergan was a nice start. The 2 minute conversations between the world leaders is all well and fine but if you want to call that a "phase" then I think it has gone on long enough now. I'm ready for the real action to start.
Yes, way too fast and with no warning they just ended it. I'm wicked pissed about that, especially since I was just about to continue it after leveling my gnome up, purely for that event.
Also, yeah what did that clip have to do with the Operation Gnomeregan event, other than having some gnomes in it?
It would have been nice if they'd mentioned it was going away with the patch. I myself rushed to do it on as many alts as I could since I'm a gnome fan, but a couple alts couldn't get the final battle due to leveling. No huge deal, but oh well.
A friend of mine though, kept catching glitches on the final battle for one reason or another. He had a few alts that didn't complete it for that reason, and he thought he had more time.
And, this video has nothing to do with gnomeregan from what I can tell and totally clashed with my expectations...
Gnomeregan is the correct spelling of the place in question. Seeing as the original video title doesn't seem to be a play on words (like Gnome-er-gone or something), it was probably just a spelling error.
Well guys I have to agree with you. on a positive note, it does have an authentic military operation feel to it, this being the hurry up and wait phase of the operations. =D

Not very impressive.

Maybe I'm just in a mood today but I dunno... I kinda expected something else based off the title.

I'm right there with ya.

Despite the lack of Gnomish lore, I liked it, especially the part about ditching the Horde (and a Belf toon) to reroll Gnome. :)

Sounded like they were copycatting Freezepop.. which i would normally love.
However, I think I may have been attacked by the Seizure Robots.
Cryssy Oct 19th 2010 5:29PM
The song is actually an original my friend James did.. so I got to parody it.. Not copying :P
Tahu Oct 19th 2010 12:29PM
Is it spelled Gnomergan or Gnomeregan? Article title and refference link are different from video title.
Could of sworn I saw some nudity in there... and by nudity I mean gnome and orc skin models without (and thankfully) any parts showing!

oops, was trying to respond to Brews and Mr. Lee on the above posts.

"The vocals were also strong"
you mean the auto tune?
gapid Oct 19th 2010 12:41PM
Great work, but the voice is so beautiful... why ruin it with autotune?
