Around Azeroth Beta Edition: A man chooses, a slave obeys
As regular readers of this column know very well, I'm a huge fan of BioShock and consider it one of the best games of all time. Apparently, someone at Blizzard agrees with me. Beta tester Sorencia discovered this Large Daddy and his Little Sister hanging out in Stonetalon Mountains. You have to love video game synergy like that. Speaking of which ... I've got an appointment in New Vegas, and I don't want to be late. Those Super Mutants are big on punctuality.

That's all well and good, but what about the important issues? In cataclysm, will we still be entitled to the sweat of our own brow?
TheGrandDuck Oct 20th 2010 10:37AM
No says Blizzard, it belongs to Deathwing!
flawless Oct 20th 2010 10:48AM

I rejected those answers.
I chose something different, I chose the impossible.
I chose Vash'jir!
A zone where the trade troll would not be censored, where the ganker would not be bound by petty morality, where the max levels would not be constrained by the newbs, and with the sweat of your brow, the sea pony can become your mount as well.

Would you kindly head to Deathwing's Lair and kill the son of a bitch?
Best referance ever!

In the spirit of the picture, if anyone from Blizzard happens to be reading this:
Would you kindly send me a beta invite already?

It's an angel! I can see light coming from his belly.
Wait a minute... he's still breathing.
It's alright.
I know he'll be an angel soon.

"I was at an Goblin prison camp only of 16 years old when I realize I have a love for engineering. Goblin doctor, he make experiment. Sometime, he make engineering error. I tell him of this error, and this make him angry. But then he asks, 'how can a child know such a thing?' I tell him, 'Sometimes, I just know.' He screams at me, 'Then why tell me?' 'Well,' I said, 'if you're going to do such things, at least you should do them properly."
"These sad saps. They come to Orgrimmar thinking they're gonna be captains of the military, but they all forget that somebody's gotta scrub the toilets. What an angle they gave me ... I hand these mugs an exclamation point and they give me their lives. Who needs an army when I got Garrosh's Home for the Poor?"
BREAKING NEWS: Cairne Bloodhoof killed by Garrosh Hellscream
Witnesses claim Bloodhoof repeatedly said "would you kindly" to Hellscream as he beat him with his own staff.
/Bioshock was awesome, but System Shock was holy.

If you liked BioShock, you should give System Shock 2 a try.
It's a pain to get running on modern systems as it crashes due to multicore processors, but there are workarounds.
There is also an addon called "SSHUP" which replaces some of the textures with higher resolution ones.
It should seem very familiar, since it's the game they basically used for BioShock. It's a little more complicated. They stripped down the inventory, and simplified some of the stuff like removing the stats and RPG aspect. If you played System Shock 2, you could guess every single turn of BioShock, since it is literally almost a remake set in a different time with a different story. Many people consider BioShock a simplified version of System Shock 2.
