a big down for shadow priests i see in cataclyms is that we have no way to permanently reduce treath, other than stopping dps. got fade only for temp reduction.

All the other hybrids are crying right along with you; Paladins (caveat: Hand of Salvation, which is only 20% and you may not even get to use it on yourself), DKs, Druids (caveat: Cower, while still pretty pathetic at 10%, is way better than it used to be), Shamans, and Warriors are all in that same boat.Meanwhile, Hunters still have a complete aggro wipe on a 25 second cooldown, Mages and Rogues each have one on a 180 second cooldown, and Warlocks have a 90% aggro wipe on a 120 second cooldown.A complete, albeit temporary, aggro wipe on a 30 second cooldown is probably the best threat management tool of any of the hybrids.

@Boobah Wind Shear (while I think it got stealth nerfed) is a permanent threat decrease. Shaman definitely have the best threat drop from any of the hybrids at the moment (as opposed to being with warriors for having "Death" as their threat drop prior to Wind Shear). Plus it's off the GCD and doesn't share a cooldown with other shocks, so there is no real downside to using it at all (except on Sindragosa). An even better upside is that it's an interrupt for fights like Deathwhisper, and it's on a very short cooldown (6 seconds, untalented). Fade is better than most other hybrids' threat reduction, yes, but it's not the best. ;)

@Boobah. And that's why my DK is a Night Elf. Free temporary aggro wipe.
