The line to pick your badge for tomorrow's 2010 BlizzCon remains a bit of an endurance test. With hundreds of fellow players, you'll be waiting for hours in a line that snakes around the convention center. The usual array of pizza boxes and fast food wrappers lay strewn about, but there's one more relief for the hungry and afflicted line waiters this year. A food cart travels up and down the line, selling baked goods ostensibly provided by
Cookie the Murloc, the Defias' chef, fruit from
Stranglethorn Vale, sweets from
Smokywood Pastures, and bottled water that doubles as a rejuvenation potion, according to the cart's sign. I have to say, those prices don't exactly inspire Heroism in me or anything, but hey. If you're hungry and stuck in line, you do what you gotta do. Maybe next year that Taco stand will finally rebrand themselves Murloco's Tacos.

@Bronwyn, I agree, I think no matter what kind of event you'll almost always see jacked up prices for inexpensive items. Movie theaters have been doing it for ages.

It's more likely to be a third party caterer than Blizzard themselves.
Blizzard would have spelled "Rejuvenation" correctly.
Probably.

Honest question, why doesn't anyone pick up their ticket at the entrance after waiting in line for the opening ceremony? (Rather than wait in two lines)
WaterRouge Oct 21st 2010 7:00PM
I must not understand your question but how could you even get in to see the opening ceremony if you haven't received your entrance ticket?
Collix Oct 21st 2010 7:15PM
The schedule that's been posted around says people can pick up tickets from 8am-10pm on Fri. as well. And if the opening ceremony is at 10am why not wait in line to get in, then pick up your ticket at the door and go get a seat.
I really have no idea if that's even possible, but if you have to wait in line to get in on Friday morning why not pick up your ticket then?
Hentaya Oct 25th 2010 9:12AM
If you were to arrive at 8am on Friday morning, Collix, to pick up your ticket, you would:
1) get in a line that is ONLY for picking up tickets
2) probably literally have 1000 people ahead of you already
3) be lucky to get your ticket before 10am. Probably closer to 11. Yes, they DID get a little faster last year, but they were still only servicing about 200-500 people an hour
So, that's answer one: The line for getting your ticket is totally separate from the line to get in.
Now, let's assume you get there at 9:30am and you ALREADY HAVE your ticket from the night before (or you made it thru the other line really fast). You're still probably far, far back in line; close to the street (I'd point you at an overhead map, but...) and there's at least 2000 people in front of you, who have been there since 6 am. By this time, probably closer to 4000. By the time you get in the doors, you'll see your alternate universe self finally getting his ticket, and wondering WTF is going on, since everyone seems to still be outside.
Yeah, Blizzcon is a blast. Mail out your tickets one of these days, people. :)

Wheres the porta-loo on a mini-truck? All those snacks...all that fluid...
Garviel Oct 21st 2010 6:59PM
It would be totally awesome, if when that cart accelerated, it made the murloc "Mrglglglglglglg"
Ametrine Oct 21st 2010 7:06PM
Dude, that would make potential customers run away. Nobody above level 5 or so runs TOWARD a murloc.
Trilynne Oct 21st 2010 7:01PM
Maybe that's expensive for Americans, but that's perfectly reasonable for us Canadians... even my cheepskate husband(I love you, honey!) thought they were reasonable... weird what people's perceptions are. :P
wutsconflag Oct 21st 2010 7:10PM
No, no, no ... You see, these prices are in American dollars, not that nearly fake currency y'all up in Canuckistan use.
:p
Trilynne Oct 21st 2010 7:12PM
Hey, it's nearly on par with yours atm! ;) :P
Suite Oct 21st 2010 7:34PM
I so hear you! At my college it's over $2 for a bottle of water. Its kind of sad :(
Saeadame Oct 21st 2010 7:43PM
I don't know, at my work we sell water for $3 (in Canada) and I've had more than a few people complain about the price. But then they buy it anyway, because they're thirsty and aren't so cheap that they'd bring water like a smart person.
Garviel Oct 21st 2010 7:02PM
I also thing they should make them RP in Murloc costumes while driving those :P
Saeadame Oct 21st 2010 7:44PM
Or at least give them a murloc hat. Not only cosplay, also product promotion!
VioletArrows Oct 21st 2010 11:29PM
I would think it'd be a bad idea to cosplay as a murloc around thousands of people who've trained millions of hours KILLING murlocs.
