BlizzCon 2010: The first in the line, at 2 a.m.

Today, the WoW Insider crew ventured down to grab some Starbucks at the hotel near the convention center and we ran into the first people in line. What time did they get there, you ask?
Meet Lucas, Kerry, and Wesley. They arrived and were sitting in line at 2:00 a.m. Thursday morning. For this epic feat, not only do they get their own post at WoW Insider, but also the distinctive honor of being the first to get their passes to BlizzCon 2010 and the first with their goodie bags.
For those who are about to go wait in this epic line, it's already started and is getting larger. Blizzard staffers have been going around stamping barcode printouts, prechecking people in for faster passage through the line. It seems that Blizzard's staff has taken advantage of the knowledge they've gained from previous years and are making the process faster.
BlizzCon 2010 is upon us! WoW Insider has all the latest news and information. We're bringing you liveblogging of the WoW panels, interviews with WoW celebrities and attendees and of course, lots of pictures of people in costumes. It's all here at WoW Insider!Filed under: BlizzCon

"For this epic feet"?
Pyromelter Oct 21st 2010 5:17PM
They must have some epic feet to stand in line for that long!
Eyhk Oct 21st 2010 5:20PM
It takes epic feet to stand out there for hours at end to "literally" be "FIRST". Kind of funny how WoW Insider awards physical firsts but massively thumbsdowns any virtual firsts hehe. Even funnier if those people standing in line had replied "FIRST!" to this post.

Why'd we downvote Eyhk? That was funny, damn it!

While they may or may not have incredibly impressive limbs, I would characterize this as an epic feat instead.

Or a 'Feat of Feet'

Stay out all night for the goodie bag line?
Really?
I am leaving work in Hollywood at 7PM, it will take an hour or so to get to Anaheim, I will stroll into a big EMPTY room with no line. Walk right up, and get the bag and my tickets.

Wesley is like my wife. She always manages to close her eyes at the moment a photo is taken.

For shame, Adam. A "first" post? Well, I guess this one's okay. :)

I'm not sure what the number in attendance is per day at Blizzcon - but consider this: The Great American Beer Festival is held in Denver every year, with an attendance of about 10,000 per day. Doors open at 5:30 PM and there is no one left in line by 6:30 PM. You can be first in line and wait all day, or last and wait 90 minutes - but even the last person in line only misses out on 90 minutes of all the beer they can drink.
I detest waiting in line.

You're missing the point of the line. It's not a line to get in to the event. For things like this, the line is the START of the event. We tag-teamed the queue for the Episode 1 Star Wars release and had SO MUCH fun! You're there with other fans, talking shop, and just having fun. It's not like standing in the line at the bank or in the grocery store. It's more like a big block party and it's a lot of fun if you have the time to do it.
Shaun Oct 21st 2010 6:36PM
Agreed! They could be in their homes, or hotels, perhaps enjoying the game instead of sitting there :)

@Aris
It's a line, a long line, that goes on for hours and hours. This is a bad thing©. end of discussion.

Are there hot blood elf boys too? For us girls.
Sir Broose Oct 21st 2010 5:17PM
There are hot blood-elf boys, but I'm not sure they're there for the girls.
Dreyja Oct 21st 2010 5:31PM
I don't know about you but I like my male hotness actually... masculine. XD
Ametrine Oct 21st 2010 5:39PM
I'm not sure the hot blood elf boys are discernable from the girls.
Finnicks Oct 21st 2010 5:44PM
I'm not entirely sure about "hot blood elf boys", but that girl in the picture is actually pretty attractive.
Stereotypically speaking, one of the LAST people I'd expect to see at the front of the BlizzCon line. :)
Viator Oct 21st 2010 5:20PM
wtb picture of them after 15 hours of waiting :)

Oh I wish I could go to Blizzcon but unfortunately I don't live the USA so its a bit to much to try for.
