BlizzCon 2010: The first in the line, at 2 a.m.

Today, the WoW Insider crew ventured down to grab some Starbucks at the hotel near the convention center and we ran into the first people in line. What time did they get there, you ask?
Meet Lucas, Kerry, and Wesley. They arrived and were sitting in line at 2:00 a.m. Thursday morning. For this epic feat, not only do they get their own post at WoW Insider, but also the distinctive honor of being the first to get their passes to BlizzCon 2010 and the first with their goodie bags.
For those who are about to go wait in this epic line, it's already started and is getting larger. Blizzard staffers have been going around stamping barcode printouts, prechecking people in for faster passage through the line. It seems that Blizzard's staff has taken advantage of the knowledge they've gained from previous years and are making the process faster.
BlizzCon 2010 is upon us! WoW Insider has all the latest news and information. We're bringing you liveblogging of the WoW panels, interviews with WoW celebrities and attendees and of course, lots of pictures of people in costumes. It's all here at WoW Insider!Filed under: BlizzCon

They need to set up a BlizzCon cam for the line, so we can watch them all wait!!! ;-)

That'll probably get more views than the livestream of a Sargeras raid.

They, or at least Kerry, seem a bit overdressed for the weather in Anaheim. =P

With great Fashion Sense comes great Sacrifice.

Actually, it can get a little chilly at night during this time of year (Many fall trips to Disneyland and always a week after Blizzcon lol). She may be hating that coat now, but will be loving it come midnight.

It's been raining and drizzling in southern california for the past week, with low temperatures in the 50s. Her outfit is akin to what the guys are wearing (light jacket, hoodie). The high in anaheim today is 67°, so taking off that jacket for a bit wouldn't be an issue.
And as much as JC is going the snarky route, she looks really nice and well-put together.

This week's weather actually included thunder and lightning too, which is a pretty rare occurrence in the bits of Southern California relatively close to the coast.
...And yes, when the thunderbolts and lightning woke me up at 4am the other day I promptly had Queen's "Bohemian Rhapsody" stuck in my head all day. Very very frightening!

I wasn't being completely snarky, I think she looks very attractive with a sensible ensemble. The tall gentleman (appears to be) quite lucky.
However, I don't envy the cosplayers beneath layers of home-forged chainmail.

I was mostly joking. =P Being an Anaheimer myself, I'm aware of the weather we've been having. Still, I find it quite pleasant and temperate. =)

I'm warning all wow.com posters now:
In past years, people have made very crass and rude comments based on images of females that this website has posted. Now, I'm all okay with an "I'd hit it!" as a quick joke, but it is really distasteful when people absolutely trash how these ladies look, their costumes, or maybe a half a centimeter of extra girth in the stomach area. If you see yourself thinking these things, or see yourself typing these things, STOP. Just STOP. Don't do it. You make yourself look like an ass. You are most likely being extremely cruel, even if you don't realize it.
In other words, lets all be as civil online as we would be in person. If you wouldn't dare say something in person to the subject of your post, don't you dare post that on wow insider. It's not fair to the great people who run this site, it's not fair to the fellow posters, it's absolutely horrible what you are doing to the subjects you are trashing, and you only make yourself look like complete pond scum (apologies to pond scum, as they serve a useful purpose in this world).
It would be really nice if Drama Mama's could put up a quick article reflecting on how we can all be decent human beings to each other (in person and on wow insider) for this Blizzcon.

If you remember last year on the Eve of Blizzcon a commenter called lovely Felicia Day a "Butter Face".
And yes, Felicia herself commented on that.
Sadly the WOW community is just so used to being as negative as possible.

I think Wil Wheaton put's it best, "Don't be a d*ck"
Aaron Oct 21st 2010 7:05PM
I think this comment is good. But if wow.com puts an actual article up with these guidelines, I think it would just spur people to do it even more.

She's hot, that guy is totally punching above his weight.

I've been to 2 Blizzcons, and I have always avoided those insane lines by coming in at 7PM, after almost everyone has their tickets, and going straight to the ticket counter to pick mine up. While hordes of people are sweltering in a long line in front of the convention center for hours on end Thursday afternoon, I'm in the bar at the Hilton right next door enjoying a cold beer. ;)
Pyromelter Oct 21st 2010 7:50PM
It's a sweltering 68°?
Ylei Oct 21st 2010 7:57PM
@Pyromelter
well, to be fair, when I went it was held in August, not October.
