Agree with all the comments on the sheer size and scope of WoW but I think my first 'wow' WoW moment was in vanilla on my first toon, who I still play although no longer my main, an undead mage. I died fairly early on in the starter area (back in the days when all the mobs weren't neutral..) and then I was a ghost, in black and white no less, and this absolutely fantastic ethereal music was playing. I think my jaw actually dropped open.
Then I ran around as a ghost for about 15 mins,listening to the wonderfully eerie music, going places that would kill me if I'd been 'alive' lol
