The Queue: No sleep 'til BlizzCon

I got no sleep. None. BlizzCon. Today is party. Trying to sleep on plane. Writing this Wednesday, thinking about sleep on plane. Pretty butterflies, where did you come from? I will dance the dance of fire.
No, really, tonight is the WoW Insider reader meetup at the Anabella in Anaheim. Get ready for pretty much the greatest night of WoW nerdity, prizes, fun and everything awesome. If you're going to the party, please say hello. Especially you WoW Insider Show fans -- I expect to see you out in full force spreading the good word.
Starlin asked:
I want to go to the BlizzCon meetup, but I'm hopelessly introverted. Is there room for someone like me to lurk in the background? Or will it just be awkward?
If you go to the BlizzCon meetup, I can almost guarantee you'll end the night talking about nerdy WoW crap with people just by finding someone who plays your faction and has an opinion. We all need a code phrase for someone who wants to strike up a conversation.
The secret WoW Insider reader meetup code-phrase is: "Hyjal or Vash'ir?"
Bourne asked:
Will we be able to spend the justice points we earn now on level 85 gear later?
You certainly will be able to spend those justice points on gear. Specifically, you will be able to spend justice points on the "previous" tier of gear. When the game launches, the valor point gear will be the first raiding gear, so the first justice point gear will be heroic blues. Personally, I am going to hang on to my justice points to buy key tanking gear for heroics so I can get into those dungeons faster.
DarkFinch asked:
It's a question that NEEDS to be asked and answered. The whole of Azeroth depends upon this very important question. We need to know. Which "Barrens" is going to take over for Barrens trade chat? I mean, will I have to fly to Northern Barrens to get my fill of Chuck Norris jokes? Or will the Southern Barrens satisfy my cravings for the inane? This is something that needs to be known by the entire world ... of Warcraft!
Trade chat.
Eff asked:
I'm suddenly able to equip fist weapons on my enhancement shaman, and not only that, but weapon skill is gone. I looked for patch notes about the disappearance of weapon skill and shaman fist weapons but found nothing. Are these official changes or bugs?
Weapon skill has gone the way of hunter mana and paladin usefulness. Gone. Completely gone. And, really, it should have been gone almost six years ago when the game released. Weapon skill was an old relic of the EverQuest and WoW beta MMO days. Now, it's an antiquated annoyance that just served to stifle players and their equipment.

Why can't I have my cake and eat it too???
Larka Oct 21st 2010 11:24AM
because the cake is a lie.

If the cake is allowed to be present and eaten at the same time, the tidal and centrifugal forces pulling through its fabric simultaneously will unravel the space-time continuum quicker than you can say "omg the tidal and centrifugal forces are unraveling the space-time continuum." Luckily we don't have to worry about this at all since we all know that the cake is most definitely a lie.

How can you have any pudding if you don't eat your suppper?
Johnny Oct 21st 2010 11:36AM
Perhaps the concept itself is flawed/illogical. Can one still have the proverbial cake even after the point of consumption. It may also be possible that the cake idiom is limited in application and, in a more extreme view, pedantic. The "can't have your cake and eat it to" example requires a specific definition of "have". What does the saying mean, precisely? Consider the fact that idioms can and do contradict each other.

Beans Ringo, beans.

I brought cake last time. It was funny how many people were skeptical of it's authenticity.

Actually Knob, I believe the word your searching for is meat.
blazenblue Oct 21st 2010 12:20PM
Actually it's meat not supper or beans.

Here I am... 9AM on a Thursday morning, adding yet another crappy day to the list of crappy days this week (Trust me, even this early it's been bad enough to count the day as crappy), and what do I find?
These posts. I couldn't help but laugh. You guys rock.

In Russia, the lie is a cake.
Galestrom Oct 21st 2010 12:27PM
Prior to eating said cake, you have it. It's yours. You still have it while you're eating it. At that moment; alas. You have your cake /and/ you're eating it too.
Unfortunately, cake is, well... delicious. This means that as long as you're eating a finite amount, it will inevitably run out, and you'll be without cake.
Though technically, it's still with you -- if only for a little while.
Ullaana Oct 21st 2010 2:06PM
Learn to bake cake, then you can do both. I ate my cake last evening and had a second already made. And no, I'm not a mage.
Hmmm, better go make another one now, as the one that is already made is calling my name.

STAND STILL, LADDIE!
Al Oct 21st 2010 9:02PM
Once you take said cake out of the box, it can not exist in both states of 'had' and 'eaten'. This is known as the Schrodinger's Cake theory.

Isnt it normal for a shaman to be able to equip fist weapons or am I just being too sleepy?;(
Aderynn Oct 21st 2010 11:12AM
Totally normal :3
Tamednan Oct 21st 2010 11:12AM
That was my first thought as well. You'd also have a really tough time finding fist weapon skill in your old list of weapon skills as it was based on unarmed.
Ati Oct 21st 2010 11:13AM
My shaman has always been able to equip fist weapons...
