BlizzCon 2010: Moonkin Hatchling mini-pet going on sale in November

They also announced that their Pandaren Monk pet when it donated all proceeds to charity when it was first available made $1.1 million for the Make-a-Wish Foundation. We're curious if this is a sign of more charity vanity pets to come in the future as that will make a serious impact for almost any cause.

@Eraina, I already have the little tree. I bring him out in raid. so I suppose I should have said that now I can have 2/5th of a druid pet.
Maybe in the next few years we'll get Bear, Bird, and Cat pets for a complete set.

You'll have to roll a hunter but you can kinda have it now.

Tame the crow and when you eventually purchase the mini-boomkin, have a macro / addon that will automatically dismiss the crow when you summon the boomkin.
(Though I really understand the desire for a pet druid. I once thought about dual-boxing a hunter and a druid, with the druid always in cat form and in a guild named

Too bad they didn't code a pink ribbon similar to Precious' Ribbon for October's Breast Cancer Awareness Month...
Josin Oct 22nd 2010 3:51PM
That would've been clever. Maybe make it a drop from Princess Theradras?
Tirrimas Oct 22nd 2010 3:20PM
I hope there will be Nelf and Tauren versions avialable. My kaudrood loves her Teldrassil Sproutling, but would have really loved one of her own...faction?
But YAY (insert Kermit cheer) for giving to charity!

Rescued Bluebird Hatchlings
A pair of them follow you around. Proceeds go to Breast Cancer Research.
Save the boobies!

Tiny new Moonkin pet... and Trolls/Worgen don't even get unique models? Unfortunate.
I also had no idea the proceeds of those pets went to charity. Definitely going to buy those now, and the Moonkin one.

ENTIRE TEAM IS BOOMKIN BABIES!

Hmm, gonna have to wait to see if it's a Moonkin or that.... thing Horde Druids turn into.

Blizz can potentially generate miliions of dollars for charities each month if they would sell several mini pets and mounts every week.
It's amazing how much money they can create with these microtransactions.
I would not be surprised if their next MMO is free to play but relies on microtransactions to fund itself.
SaintStryfe Oct 22nd 2010 4:02PM
I doubt they will. One, microtransactions are unreliable. A bad piece, something no one wants, they're not going to sell any (how many mini-XTs do you see about?) Two, it's not really blizz' MMO.
iceveiled Oct 22nd 2010 3:54PM
I mean to say sell a mini pet or mount each week, not several a week. That would be ridiculous.
Silversol Oct 22nd 2010 4:01PM
If it moonfires critters as an idle animation and/or /dances, I'm getting it.
benbettis Nov 5th 2010 12:26AM
I would buy it in a second if he moonfired other vanity pets.
razion Oct 22nd 2010 4:07PM
My gut tells me this thing won't have flab-but when it waddles next to my Moonkin...
As a companion, I might still prefer to have my turkey out. But we shall see.
Jeremy Star Oct 22nd 2010 4:56PM
No, just that it would work like the monk pet. (Partial charity donation.)
Cmidrfti@btinternet.com Oct 22nd 2010 5:05PM
I'm not the only one to say this but I jumped at the Pandaren because of the charity donations and don't get me wrong i ponied up for the celestial steed (see what I did there) but as much as i love the other pets a charity thing would get me much more onboard for completing that collection. I think I may be inline for the plushes for xmas though. Pets for me, toys for the niece.

Trifecta completed, druids are now officially WoW's non-combat pet class.
Maybe they'll do a character model redesign while they're at it.....
