The new Cataclysm login screen has been unveiled this weekend during BlizzCon 2010. Our hopes and prayers for a login screen without a screaming, ear-shattering dragon were all for naught. Deathwing is certainly much cooler than Sindragosa, so I'm sure we can live with it ... for a few weeks. After that, my mute button and I will be becoming close friends again.

5.0 the end boss will be the Deep Mother of the Murlocs and you'll have to turn it down to avoid a RWRGLGLRRG set precisely to the "brown noise" frequency.
Anyone know if there's some way to swap it out for older login screens?

All these people are complaining about the sound of Deathwing's roar.
He's using Stormwind as a footstool. He flooded half the world. He turned the ocean into a perpetually-flushing toilet.
I'd say he's earned the right to roar however he pleases, and I'm sure not gonna be the one to tell him he sounds like a sissy.

Anyone else who plays more horde than alliance pooped off at having storwind on their login screen?
Even when i play my alliance toons, i avoid stormwind at all times, least favorite of the alliance cities.
Deathwing threatening a place i have no personal stake in saving doesn't feel very epic.

Did any of the people complaining about the roar pay attention to the crowd? How they were silently watching the animation, and then what happened after the scream? Had to be crazy amounts of boos right? Oh wait, no, it was loud cheering. I feel fairly confident saying the people that complain about the roar are the vocal minority. These stats I just made up show that maybe 10% of the people think it's bad enough that it shouldn't happen. The other 90% think it's a cool login screen and are ambiguous about the audio.
People like dragons, and dragons roar, so get used to it. If it bothers you that much, most modern keyboards have a mute button.

I like his roar/screech but I would have loved a menacing sub-sonic roar like the balrog in Lord of the Rings.

So in canon, the Alliance are the ones who officially killed both Onyxia and Nefarion? Or did he also visit Orgrimmar for one of them?

Horde adventurers killed Nefarion and Saurfang put his head on a pike. To cut a long story short, Varian Wrynn himself killed Onyxia.

You know I never been bother by the dragon roar once.. I think this one of those things people are complaining to just complain.. How load are you playing the game where its bugging you that bad... *shrug*

Then again unlike most of you I have always liked the WOTLK one. Dragon's screaming = win
