I personally think it would work somewhere in or directly after Cataclysm as a means to start the end of it. If anyone's read Richard Knaak's "Day of the Dragon" it took the might of the other 4 dragon aspects to take down Deathwing... So introducing the Emerald Dream for players to seek out the help of Valithria (and subsequently seeking the aid of Malygos, Nozdormu, and Alexstraza...) would be a pretty sweet way to go about it...
