BlizzCon 2010: Man breaks leg in dance contest

Jay Mohr, host of the competition said, "He's tapped out. He's done, he tapped out," indicating the band to stop playing. Then Mohr leaned over to help him up and spoke with him away from the mike. Mohr then stood back up and asked for medical attention, saying that they had a broken leg.
The competitor was carried off stage by four employees, by the arms and legs, and the show continued.

Keanu Reeves, he goes where he is needed.

Yet another sighting of the immortal Keanu Reeves... And he still looks sad, even at Blizzcon.
Poor guy. :/
Trisong Oct 23rd 2010 8:14PM
It looks like Keanu Reeves carrying the I like Turtles kid. When memes collide.
devilsei Oct 23rd 2010 11:26PM
Looks like the "I like turtles" kid has grown up a little since we saw him last...
Paint looks bad though, has he been wearing it ever since?
Drudoo Oct 23rd 2010 4:39PM
Is there any info if he actually broke his leg or not?

I hope the guy is alright.

I saw him after the whole show ended with an ace bandage on his ankle. Since this was two hours after he was on stage I can only imagine he was not rushed off to the hospital.

And the next Lerooooy Jenkins is born.

I watched the video again and it looked really bad, you could see his knee move in a non-standard way. Probably a dislocation of the knee, which feels like a broken bone. If you saw the vid of him, he has to be the toughest geek ever, he didn't even cry out when it happened, he just asked for help.

There was a thread over on MMO-Champion that had a picture showing that he dislocated his knee.

'The competitor was carried off stage by four employees, by the arms and legs, and the show continued.'
Something tells me these guys need more experience on how to handle broken bones.

Lol, whoever said game designers were supposed to be medical professionals?
Poor kid, though. I hope he's okay.

@sccorp.sc
They don't, but it's the event organizers' job to have one on hand.
Guy Oct 23rd 2010 5:11PM
I was thinking the same thing. Lets grab the guy who broke his leg, by his leg. Either let him lie there until someone comes with a stretcher, carry him by the arms and have him limp on the good leg.
Only thing I can think is, it was a foot or ankle injury.
MechaKingGhidra Oct 23rd 2010 5:42PM
Frankly, I'm just thankful no one got hurt if anyone tried the male troll dance (I don't know, I don't have the stream) and got their arm/neck injured. Snap! Not meaning to find that funny so much as even in the slightest but I just simply imagine a loud snapping noise in regards to that particular situation.
Since we don't know the full specifics, though, we can't quite condemn the Blizzard staff...yet. For all we know, a quick assessment was done to see if it was reasonable to move him, and then just had to get him to a more accessible part of the room.
Who knows, all, who knows...?
