BlizzCon 2010: Man breaks leg in dance contest

Jay Mohr, host of the competition said, "He's tapped out. He's done, he tapped out," indicating the band to stop playing. Then Mohr leaned over to help him up and spoke with him away from the mike. Mohr then stood back up and asked for medical attention, saying that they had a broken leg.
The competitor was carried off stage by four employees, by the arms and legs, and the show continued.

It's to bad, he was really going to town up there. I managed to catch of couple minutes of the dance and it was by far the most impressive head banging I've every seen (no joke). I was always taught White men couldn't jump but it seems that that statement is in fact false

I was annoyed by the totally wrong music they were doing for the guy's dance. I think it was totally throwing him off.

Don't worry, they got a druid to heal his leg off stage. It probably hurt, but they had to get him off stage, Deathwing was the next competitor in line and he doesn't like to wait :s

That's disgraceful that Blizz doesn't have a properly trained medical team on hand. By the looks of the MMO-Champ picture, the guy's just subluxated his tibia, and quite possibly torn his PCL as well... Even someone with absolutely no medical knowledge at all should realize that if you suspect a broken leg (or a dislocated joint), you don't carry the guy off the stage by it...
If it was badly dislocated (which by the fact that he's not screaming in agony, seems unlikely), and they moved him like that, the'd be a high chance of impinging a nerve or an artery in the joint, and the kid would be lucky to keep his leg.

That sucks. I hate having to farm the wool to make a new tibia subluxator.
Lichslapped Oct 23rd 2010 5:19PM
lol... wait... what?
Should have clarified before for anyone that's actually interested, a subluxation is a partial dislocation, so the joint doesn't completely dislocate and stay dislocated, it just kinda comes half out, and still causes a hell of a lot of damage to everything that's supporting it. I spend far too much time around other Physiotherapists (PTs for you Americans...)

Muaaahahah death to the Forsaken!
Seriously though, kid - just go cannibalize a corpse and you'll be good as new.
Uhhhuh Oct 23rd 2010 5:20PM
He was told goodluck and break a leg by his friends.
His friends forgot how he takes everything literally.
Nadi Oct 23rd 2010 5:22PM
Oh, that's awful... I hope he can give a livestream to his room at the hospital if they need to keep him there!
\hugs to the guy.

Everyone wondering why they are holding him by both legs and arms when he injured one of his legs, do you think it would be safe or wise to leg a broken/hurt limb hang unsupported whilst you are carrying that person somewhere? They are likely holding the injured limb up to keep it steady and are not trying to hold him up BY the leg at all.
Speedy recovery to the guy.

They're called stretchers.
Andrew Oct 23rd 2010 5:54PM
All i can say is. Hahah-haha-roflcopter. Couldn't stop laughing when i saw this.
Balgus Oct 23rd 2010 5:57PM
They played god awful music for that dance. you do not play smooth music for headbanging.
Xid Oct 24th 2010 9:23AM
I think they mistakenly played the female undead music instead. X(

Probably just a bad sprain or dislocated muscle, not a broken bone. If he had broken a leg, he would have been screaming in pain being lifted the way he was.
