eh, bad costumes at least have a funny factor (see the terrible hand-switched sock Merloc suit the first post-WoW blizzcon that was made into an item at the next one). One of my favorites was actually the girl in the pink nelf druid which was just a well-stitched hoodie. That made me laugh for a few moments.
Bad dancers though, in street clothes, missing musical cues, it's just no fun. More facepalms then awesomes.

Mostly down to some of the ... odd... choices of music, most notably the undead male. I mean, it is well established that the male nelf dance is Michael Jackson's Billy Jean... why they were playing Jackson 5s ABC is confusing. Same goes for the female Goblins, who clearly take Beyonce's Single Ladies... I don't even know what the hell they danced to.
The dance contest was bad, because the songs were bad. There were only a few dances out there that had matching music. The male dwarven guy was awesome though. He's a poser, but he backed it up.

@Piisuke
some of the music was bad because they were playing the wrong stuff.
This guy was doing the undead male dance. the band played him the music for undead FEMALE. Watch some of last year's dance contest.
