The official
BlizzCon 2010 store is where you went in Anaheim to get some epic loot. T-shirts, pennants and even water bottles could all be had by BlizzCon attendees. Most of the items ran out by Sunday afternoon, which meant that you had to risk the hours-long lines. But check this stuff out. It was totally worth it.
BlizzCon 2010 is upon us! WoW Insider has all the latest news and information. We're bringing you liveblogging of the WoW panels, interviews with WoW celebrities and attendees and of course, lots of pictures of people in costumes. It's all here at WoW Insider!

Most of the stuff ran out by Sunday afternoon? What's your frame of reference, it's only 8 am there :p

Seriously, I had to check my calendar because I was afraid I'd missed the first half of the work day. Hahah.

So did the store sale for Virtual Ticket holders ever happen? I was checking all week for the expanded Blizzcon section and saw the same stuff every time.
And yeah, I was logged into the correct Battle.net account and all that good stuff.

Yes, it happened. I was able to access the store on the 13th.

Looks like Blizzard knows where their towels are. ^_^
Also, the Wind Rider plushie looks so sad with its ears pulled over its eyes...

Something so wrong and so right about Horde/Alliance towels and butt cushions.

Sunday afternoon? Am I missing something here?
The Blizzcon that I saw began on Friday morning and ended Saturday evening. There was no "Sunday" at all in the equation. Unless you are talking about the pre-sale for ticket holders, in which case, I do not remember which day that was. Still, a little clarification and/or fact-checking goes a long way.
That being said, this was such a lower key Blizzcon, even the store's offerings don't seem worth it. Seat cushions? Is that all they could come up with? Oh yeah I can see those selling out as fast as the eye can see. To buy a themed seat cushion like that and use it would be like showing disrespect to that faction. But if you buy the opposing faction you seem like you're supporting that side. All for something that is designed to be completely non-visible during use. I guess it might make a good present for an elderly relative who doesn't know better and likes the colors.
I understand there might be legitimate medical/comfort reasons for an otherwise average person to want a seat cushion, I am not discriminating against anybody or criticizing the usage. I just feel that it is an underwhelming product idea in a sea of otherwise interesting concepts for Blizzard.

I would KILL for that sheet music.
Prissa Oct 24th 2010 4:25PM
I feel you there. $4... I can't believe SHEET MUSIC was $4.... and I couldn't get any :'( I died a lot inside.
Teni Oct 26th 2010 5:53AM
The sheet music is published by Alfred Publishimg, which prints most of all the sheet music and music books you see in the music stores. You should be able to find this at your local music store, or have them special order them for you. You can also find them on eBay and online, but be prepared to pay an extra special order fee.

Oh man, Bubble Hearth Beach Ball! WANT IT!
splodesondeath Oct 24th 2010 4:43PM
Could've gone for the water bottle, shame I couldn't go.
Is it possible that people buy a whole ton of the stuff to sell it online after? Or would that infringe on something?
I can imagine that making a profit.

You see, this kinda torques me off.
We had a virtual ticket, and as such had a "pre-Blizzcon" sale at the Blizzard Store. The people with actual tickets to Blizzcon got first shot. Okay, fine.
So, we log in as soon as we're allowed and find that the two items that we really wanted, the "three villains" t-shirt (forgot the actual name) and the towels are already marked as SOLD OUT. Okay, fine, the people with real tickets got to all of them before we had a crack at them. Fine.
And then we see that, yes, they're on sale at Blizzcon. Apparently they weren't sold out after all.
Why bother have a "exclusive" sale for virtual ticket holders in the first place?
tfwagner2001 Oct 25th 2010 12:29PM
Sadly, they had items from the virtual ticket sale marked as Sold Out initially and corrected their status later in the day. Then they really got Sold Out.

Merchandising is the *one* area I think Blizzard could really improve on. A lot of the stuff they sell at Blizzcon aren't really anything special, and I think they could make a killing with better merchandising. They're headquartered in Irvine; it shouldn't be that hard to lure away someone from Disney merchandising from down the street.
People go to Blizzcon with money to burn. They could sell a ton of stuff... faction or class keychains, JEWELRY (necklaces, rings, earrings, pins), pens, notepads. People pay $15 for a pair of stupid Mickey Mouse ears... they could make a killing selling Tauren antler deely boppers and stuff. People love picking up souvenirs like that. ID lanyards. Ball caps. Visors. How many of us are geeks that have to wear IDs at work?
Every year, the murloc Figureprints sells out during the first day of the virtual sale, and there's a small inventory of it available on Friday at Blizzcon. Can you imagine stuffed moonkin? Little gnome dolls with pink ponytails? Little models of mounts? Options are endless and that doesn't even touch on event-specific shirts (they did ONE T-shirt and ONE hoodie style... the hoodie is new this year, i think). They also did ONE bag. ONE BAG. It makes me tear out my hair... they can do SOOOO much more!
Sorry, just a little peeve.
